    Molybdate transport through the plant sulfate transporter SHST1

The mechanism of molybdenum uptake in plants is poorly understood, however, evidence has suggested that sulfate transporters may be involved. The sulfate transporter from Stylosanthes hamata, SHST1, restored growth of the sulfate transport yeast mutant, YSD1, on media containing low amounts of molybdate. Kinetic analysis using 99MoO4(2-) demonstrated that SHST1 enhanced the uptake of molybdate into yeast cells at nM concentrations. Uptake was not inhibited by sulfate, but sulfate transport via SHST1 was reduced with molybdate.     Early Country Musician Doc Williams (1914-2011): Contributions to the Development of Country Music and Applications for a General Music Curriculum, Grades 3-5

    The purpose of this study is to document early country musician Doc Williams’ musical career, to evaluate his specific contributions to early country music from 1932 to 1951, and to develop curriculum materials for grades 3-5 general music classes based on his music. I chose 1951 as the end point for this study because at that time Williams began frequent tours to the northeast and Canada. These later years, although worthy of attention, launched a new phase of his career, beyond the scope of this study. During the course of the study, I address the following questions: 1) What was the nature of Williams’ musical education and development as a musician? 2) What are his contributions to country music? 3) In what ways can Williams’ music be used in a general music curriculum for grades 3-5? Doc Williams was born Andrew Smik Jr. in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 26, 1914. He began his life-long musical career playing country music on radio in 1932. His success on WWVA’s “Wheeling Jamboree” contributed to his popularity in the Northeast and throughout Canada. Williams’ practices in country music are the reason many regard him as a pioneer of country music. Radio broadcasts, personal appearances, songwriting, song publishing, and recording were all important components of his life-long career. His music is exemplary of the early country music genre. Therefore, his contributions to early country music make his music worthy of study. Historically, country music has been marginalized in the music curriculum.     Pseudohallucinations in an Adolescent: Considerations for Diagnosis and Treatment in the Case of "Kate"

    Hallucinations are usually considered a hallmark of severe psychopathology, most commonly psychotic or thought disorders such as schizophrenia or other organic brain syndromes. However, several studies describe '"non-psychotic hallucinations" occurring in children and adolescents who experience hallucinations without other core symptoms of true psychosis, such as the presence of a thought disorder, disorganized behavior, and pervasive dysfunction. Some authors describe the controversial subject of "pseudohallucinations," which appears to be more representative of conversion disorder symptoms rather than psychotic symptoms. We present a case of "Kate," a 16-year-old adolescent female who required psychiatric hospitalization for auditory hallucinations with secondary delusional thinking. She was initially given a diagnosis of psychotic disorder, not otherwise specified (NOS), and treated with an antipsychotic and an antidepressant. At outpatient follow-up, although Kate continued to endorse hallucinations and delusional thinking, her symptoms were not felt to be part of a true psychotic disorder. The hallucinations could be viewed as a product of extreme anxiety; a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) was made, and Kate was maintained on the antidepressant and antipsychotic medications. However, this did not entirely explain Kate's symptoms. The consideration of "pseudohallucinations" as conversion disorder symptoms in the form of psychiatric symptoms was key to making an accurate diagnosis, predicting prognosis, and tailoring treatment for Kate and her parents. A total of 29 months of a combination of both cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic treatment by the first author (MAS) included both weekly individual therapy and weekly therapy with her parents for the first 12 months, biweekly individual and parents therapy for the next eight months, and monthly individual sessions for the final nine months, during which Kate was 18 years old. During the initial course of treatment, the antipsychotic was tapered and discontinued without precipitating an exacerbation of symptoms. Symptoms continued to improve throughout treatment with both patient and parents. We discuss the differences between psychosis and “pseudopsychosis” and the reasons for making the distinction in this case. We also discuss the possible explanation for these "pseudohallucinations" in Kate and how treatment was tailored. Finally, we discuss the implications for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of this and similar cases of non-psychotic hallucinations

The study is undertaken to investigate the different factors that lays ground for increased ‘Customer value’ and ‘Product Value’. The research objective is to find the “Value Proposition Analysis for Solid State Lighting: a Case Study AhmedAli Ahmed Electrical Contracting; Marketing the product in the Kingdom of Bahrain” Most businesses generate profits, when the customers give a certain value(s) to the service/product provided by the business entity. This could involve many attributes to consider. The project overlooks in to this value significantly to understand the attributes that collectively contributes to ‘Valued Relation’ between the customer and the business. This is achieved by making effective use of literature suggested by various authors and by employing research strategies to validate the literature through the findings. The research also looks in to the case study organisation to fully understand the capabilities of the company to market the product. Thus, this analysis will be specifically looking in to the value proposition given to Solid State Lighting by the current UK customers and by clients of AhamedAli Ahmed Electrical Contracting, Kingdom of Bahrain. However, this analysis must viewed critically, as the product comes at a premium price and the study will be much centred in the Kingdom of Bahrain and cannot be generalised for the other GCC countries or the Middle East. This study is focused to generate strategies in marketing Solid State Lighting in Bahrain taking A.A.E as the Case Study Organisation understanding the Value Proposition for Solid State Lighting
