No full textIdentification and attribution of two anonymous fragments preserved in the Suda lexicon. In the first part is analyzed the meaning of the term mnester, and of other equivalent Greek words as well, in the field of the political elections. Then, on the ground of historical information, and the vocabulary employed, its authorship is attributed to Dionysius of Halicarnassus, placing it in the specific context of the third Samnite war, and connecting it with Fabius Maximus Rullianus. In the second part is identified the main character on the ground of the historical and onomastic data contained in the fragment. The fragment is attributed to the Byzantine chronograph John of Antioch
