The study examines the effect of exclusive talent management on turnover intention, employ engagement, and perceived distributive justice. Moreover, the impact of distributive justice on turnover intention and employee engagement was examined. Further, we also assess the mediating and moderating roles of distributive justice and procedural justice. The study has collected the data through a survey questionnaire from employees of private banks in Pakistan. The private bank context is suitable for the study because it is the most emerging services sector. There is a high degree of social interaction among management, peers, and customers in providing financial services. Two hundred eighty respondents provided complete responses, and hypothesis testing was analyzed using structural equation modeling with AMOS 24. We used bootstrapping method for mediation/moderation analysis. The study found that exclusive talent management simulates distributive justice, employee engagement, and turnover intention. Our results also show that distributive justice affects employee engagement and turnover intentions. We also found that distributive justice mediates employee engagement but not the turnover intention. However, we did not find any moderating role of procedural justice. This study was limited to the banking sector of Pakistan, and other studies may explore other sectors. A comparative study between service and manufacturing may also bring further insight into the discussed phenomenon. Â

In the present competitive era, it has become difficult for organizations to attract and retain talented employees. In view of this constraint many organizations have adopted the employer branding concept in organizations. However, it has been found that multinationals and large business entities practice employer branding but it is not being practiced in SMEs in Pakistan. Thus, SMEs in Pakistan are not able to operate at full capacity due to lackof talented workforce. Past studies despite the importance of employer branding have used it in large industries. Moreover, these studies have examined the consequences of employer branding and have not adequately examined the mediating roles of personal organization and recruitment. This study has examined the effect of employer branding on organizational identification, personal organization, recruitment and satisfaction. Additionally, this study has also examined the mediating roles of personal organization and recruitment. The sample size for the study was 415 SMEs in Karachi. Smart PLS was used for testing the measurement and structural model. The results show that employer branding has a positive and statistically significant impact on organizational identification, personal organization, recruitment and job satisfaction. In addition, the study found that personal organization has a positive and significant effect on organizational identification while recruitment has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Growing Population of Pakistani Youth: A Ticking Time Bomb or a Demographic Dividend

    Get PDF
Pakistan is considered to be the fifth largest young country in the world. Around 63 percent population of the country comprises youth aged between 15 and 33 (UN Population Fund Report 2017). Such a large young population has posed daunting challenges to the social, economic and political sectors of the state. The fast rising youth bulge of Pakistan seems to be a constantly ticking time bomb instead of a demographic dividend, threatening its very own existence. Poor youth engagement in the productive political, educational, economic and socio-cultural activities indicates ineffectiveness of the public and private sectors policies especially at the state level. The current research study is intended to identify the key factors behind the disengaged and distressed youth of Pakistan in the three core areas of education, economy and politics. For this purpose, a systematic literature review was carried out in which national and international labor survey reports, youth development index, national youth program and federal education and economic policies were critically analyzed alongside the relevant research studies, nongovernment organizations’ reports and media coverage for a dynamic overview. Besides, interviews of relevant stakeholders were also conducted to investigate the issue from diverse perspectives. Evidently, youth partnership, empowerment, and engagement in educational, economic and political sectors can be the only way forward to address the increasing challenges of the country. Keywords: demographic dividend, employment, literacy, youth developmen

The Bluest Eyes: Objectification of Women and Victimization of Male Sex-offenders

    Get PDF
The present study intends to study Toni Morrison’s novel The Bluest Eyes with a Feminist approach. It shows how the sex-offenders oppress little black girls in a patriarchal society. The sex-offenders on the other hand are presented as victims of circumstances and their victimization of black girls is justified by portraying the girls to be the cause of the heinous acts committed to violate their innocence. All black girls, despite the claim of the novelist that it is written from their perspective, are presented in the novel to be reasonably oppressed by the male characters. The author through a series of incidents has tried to depict the objectification of the female sex on one side while the victimization of the sex-offenders on the other. It is a strange dichotomy of events and incidents which has been explored through Catherine Belsey’s Textual Analysis as tool of interpreting various scenes and dialogues

The Role of Islamic Finance in Enhancing Fiscal Space and Debt Sustainability: Evidence from D8 Countries with a Moderating Role of Institutional Quality

    Get PDF
This study investigates the role of Islamic finance in enhancing fiscal space and debt sustainability in D-8 countries, with a special focus on the moderating effect of institutional quality. Using the Driscoll-Kray estimator, the research analyzes key Islamic finance instruments, Sukuk, Takaful, and Islamic banking assets, along with their interactions with institutional quality. The findings reveal that Sukuk alone has a weak and statistically insignificant impact on both fiscal space and debt sustainability. However, when combined with higher institutional quality, Sukuk’s positive effect on fiscal space becomes significant, highlighting the importance of strong governance. Takaful shows a marginally positive influence on fiscal space, but no significant effect on debt sustainability. Nevertheless, its effectiveness improves when institutional quality is high, demonstrating that stronger institutions can enhance Takaful’s role in fiscal development. In contrast, Islamic banking assets negatively and significantly affect both fiscal space and debt sustainability. This negative impact is intensified by higher institutional quality, suggesting that unchecked growth of Islamic banking assets could undermine fiscal stability, especially in well-governed environments. The study also finds that economic openness significantly reduces both fiscal space and debt sustainability, while institutional quality plays a vital role in strengthening debt sustainability. Overall, the results underscore the critical moderating role of institutional quality in amplifying or mitigating the effects of Islamic finance. The study concludes that D-8 countries should focus on enhancing institutional quality to fully leverage the potential of Islamic finance, particularly Sukuk, for sustainable fiscal growth and improved debt management.   © 2025 The Author(s). Findings show that the present work is a text that has been written with the intention of guiding and providing lettering patterns in the first place for the public and in the second place for secretaries. The types of formal and informal correspondence are evident in the text; In the position of the name of the audience, a specific name is not obvious and some adverb has been used. The correspondence of the work is not very long and satisfactory compared to the conventional method of the ninth century. The structures of correspondence are influenced by the common styles of the age. The author has testified to the verses, narrations and poems of his earlier and contemporary poets such as Salman Savoji, Zahir Faryabi and Rumi in various positions of the letters. The prose style of the origins is technical and somewhat artificial, so that it is not left out of the usual secretarial expressions and the use of references, puns and other verbal and spiritual techniques. In some expressions of prose, it has taken on a poetic aspect, which indicates the ability
