Idmon
Idmon de Nicéville, 1895 Idmon de Nicéville, 1895: 375. Type species: Baoris unicolor Distant, 1886 (= Idmon distanti Sherpard, 1937) Yania Huang, 1997: 147 -153. Type species: Yania sinica Huang, 1997. Yanoancistroides Huang, 1999: 516. (syn. nov.) 1. * Corresponding author: Tel. + 8620 8528 3518, E-mail address: [email protected] Adults medium sized. Palpi with third segment long and thin. Both wings with vein M 2 straight and about midway between veins M 1 and M 3 at their origin. Externally the genus strikingly resembles Iambrix, but can be distinguished by male genitalia with uncus deeply bifurcated and hindwing underside without silvery white spots. Distribution. Oriental Region.Published as part of Fan, Xiaoling, Wang, Min & Zeng, Ling, 2007, The genus Idmon de Nicéville (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) from China, with description of two new species, pp. 57-62 in Zootaxa 1510 on pages 57-58, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.27382

Idmon sinica Huang 1997, comb. nov.
Idmon sinica (Huang, 1997) comb. nov. Yania sinica Huang, 1997: 147 –153. (Type locality: Qingchenshan, Sichuan) Yanoancistroides sinica: Huang, 1999: 516; Huang, 2003: 136 –140. The species was well illustrated by Huang (1997, 2003), according to palpi, wing pattern and male genitalia, it is similar to I. fujianana, but can be easily separated from the latter by hindwing underside dark brown, almost uumarked, valva with the ampullar and harpal processes widely separated at apex, the harpe with outer margin straight bearing a small spines centrally and well pointed apically. So, the species definitely belongs to Idmon. Distribution. Sichuan.Published as part of Fan, Xiaoling, Wang, Min & Zeng, Ling, 2007, The genus Idmon de Nicéville (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) from China, with description of two new species, pp. 57-62 in Zootaxa 1510 on page 58, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.27382
Somena scintillans Walker 1856
Somena scintillans Walker, 1856 (Figs. 5–6, 29, 43) Somena scintillans Walker, 1856: 1734. Artaxa scintillans: Butler, 1881: 52. Euproctis scintillans: Hampson, 1892: 483. Nygmia scintillans: Swinhoe, 1923: 49. Prothesia scintillans: Strand, 1933: 333. [Porthesia kurosawai: Chao 2003: 317.] Misidentification Diagnosis. Forewing length 12–17 mm. Forewing reddish brown with a yellow irregular border in male, and a yellow patch at apex, central termen and dorsum respectively in female. Male genitalia (Fig. 29): Uncus broad, weakly bifid. valva divided in the distal half, the dorsal arm broad, the ventral arm slender, acute apically; saccus triangular; aedeagus simple, vesica unadorned. Female genitalia (Fig. 43): Papilla analis small; ductus short, cylindrical, sclerotized; bursa long, sausage-shaped, with a bicornute signum. Material examined. 33, Nanling National Nature Reserve, Guangdong, 6.V. 2006; 1 Ƥ, same locality, 31.IV. 2008. Distribution. China (Hebei, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hubei, Sichuan, Fujian, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Taiwan), Korea, Japan, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka. Remarks. Strand (1933) regarded the species as typical of Porthesia Stephens. However, Porthesia has been confirmed by Maes (1984) as an invalid genus. P. k u ro s a w a i Inoue reported by Chao (2003) from Guangxi Province in China is actually Somena scintillans, based on the adults and male genitalia.Published as part of Wang, Houshuai, Wang, Min & Fan, Xiaoling, 2011, Notes on the tribe Nygmiini (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Lymantriinae) from Nanling National Nature Reserve, with description of a new species, pp. 57-68 in Zootaxa 2887 on pages 58-59, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20082
Euproctis yunnanpina Chao 1984
Euproctis yunnanpina Chao, 1984 (Figs. 21–22, 38, 50) Euproctis yunnanpina Chao, 1984: 454; 2003: 365. Diagnosis. Forewing length 14–20 mm. Forewing covered with darker scales from base to submarginal area, crossed by two yellowish white transverse lines medially, apically with two black spots.Male genitalia (Fig. 38): Uncus rather triangular; valva broad at base, cucullus sclerotized, with two small processes; saccus long; aedeagus bent near apex; apex slightly concave medially, with an acute process at dorsal margin. Female genitalia (Fig. 50): The eighth segment relatively narrow; papilla analis broad; apophysis anterioris longer than apophysis posterioris; ductus sclerotized basally; bursa large, signum with a transverse flange. Material examined. 13, Nanling National Nature Reserve, Guangdong, 1.VIII.2006. 13, same locality, 20.IV. 2009; 13, 2 Ƥ, same locality, 7.VIII. 2009. Distribution. China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan). Remarks: The female of this species is superficially similar to Arna pseudoconspersa (Strand), but distinguished from the latter by a transverse flange arising from a sclerotised signum within the bursa. Female genitalia are illustrated here for the first time. Detailed biological information is given by Chao (2003).Published as part of Wang, Houshuai, Wang, Min & Fan, Xiaoling, 2011, Notes on the tribe Nygmiini (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Lymantriinae) from Nanling National Nature Reserve, with description of a new species, pp. 57-68 in Zootaxa 2887 on page 64, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20082
