Rasahus grandis Fallou, 1889 Original data: “Minas Geraes (Brésil)”; “[espèce] décrite par M. l’abbé M. Sipolis à Minas Geraes (Brésil)” (Fallou 1889: 151). Non-type: 1 ♀: “ HOLOTYPE ” // “ MUSEUM PARIS COLL. G. FALLOU 259-95” // “ Paraguay ” // “grandis Fallou”. Type locality: Minas Geraes (Brésil) [Brazil]. Current status: Valid species. Remarks: This specimen is labelled as “ Paraguay ”, not Brazil, therefore it cannot be a type specimen even though it bears a “ HOLOTYPE ” label.Published as part of Liu, Yingqi, Pluot-Sigwalt, Dominique, Guilbert, Eric & Cai, Wanzhi, 2022, Catalogue of type specimens of Peiratinae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae) preserved in the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris, pp. 1-85 in Zootaxa 5110 (1) on page 81, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5110.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/634041

Pirates nigrigenu Fallou, 1891 Original data: “ Sierra Leone ” (Fallou 1891: 9–10). Type: Syntype 1 ♀: “ TYPE ” // “ Rhobomp Sierra Leone ” // “ MUSEUM PARIS COLL. G. FALLOU 1895” (Fig. 51). Type locality: Sierra Leone. Current status: Junior synonym of Lestomerus ochropus (Stål, 1855) (Bergroth 1892: 263). Remark: The original description (Fallou 1891: 10) didn’t designate the holotype and didn’t mention the number of specimens studied, therefore the single available specimen should be regarded as a syntype (ICZN 1999, Recommendation 73F). Villiers provided the specimen with a type label, added a printed collection label, and transferred the specimens from Fallou’s collection to the general collection.Published as part of Liu, Yingqi, Pluot-Sigwalt, Dominique, Guilbert, Eric & Cai, Wanzhi, 2022, Catalogue of type specimens of Peiratinae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae) preserved in the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris, pp. 1-85 in Zootaxa 5110 (1) on page 62, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5110.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/634041

    Lestomerus tuberculatus Fallou 1891

Lestomerus tuberculatus Fallou, 1891 Original data: “ Panama ” (Fallou 1891: 10). Type: Syntype 1 ♂: “ HOLOTYPE ” // “panama” // “ MUSEUM PARIS COLL. G. FALLOU 259-95” // “tuberculatus Fallou” [hw Villiers] (Fig. 35). Type locality: Panama. Current status: Junior synonym of Rasahus albomaculatus (Mayr, 1865) (Bergroth 1892: 263). Remarks: In the original boxes of the Fallou’s collection, many specimens do not bear label, only a bottom label behind the specimen(s), indicating the name of the species, the locality and, should it be the case, the handwritten mention “type”. When transferring the specimen from Fallou’s collection to the MNHN general collection, Villiers added a printed label stating the origin (Fallou’s collection) and also the label “ Holotype ”, probably because it was the single specimen (without pin-hole next to the specimen). However, in the original description, Fallou (1891: 10) didn’t designate a holotype and didn’t mention the number of specimens. Thus, this type specimen should be regarded as a syntype and not as holotype (ICZN 1999, Recommendation 73F).Published as part of Liu, Yingqi, Pluot-Sigwalt, Dominique, Guilbert, Eric & Cai, Wanzhi, 2022, Catalogue of type specimens of Peiratinae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae) preserved in the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris, pp. 1-85 in Zootaxa 5110 (1) on page 40, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5110.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/634041

    Amberana humeralis (Fallou, 1890)
(Figs 52–56)

Sphenorhina humeralis Fallou, 1890: 353, transferred to Amberana by Lallemand, 1949: 70, 72. Tomaspis (?) humeralis Jacobi, 1917: 540.

Literna seminigra Lallemand 1920a: 287 nec Melichar 1902: 105, corrected by Lallemand, 1949: 70, 72.

Male genitalia (Figs 55–56). Pygofer larger in its middle section than along upper or basal margin, posterior margin clearly curved posteriorly, its basal apex protrudes into a distinct extension on which the subgenital plates are attached. Pygofer height: 1.8 mm. Subgenital plates long, large at their insertion point up to half of their length then reducing in size and finishing with a very pointed apex, total length greater than pygofer height (2 mm). Aedeagus with a single protrusion on its anterior margin large at base and finishing into a point, two dorsal extensions with the posterior one finishing with a bifid apex.

Nomenclatural note. The original description does not allow us to identify the number of the specimens examined by the author. In Fallou’s collection (MNHN), the mention “ type ”, was not attached to the specimen present in the collection but written on the label placed at the bottom of the box along with the species name. Since only one representative for this species was present in Fallou’s collection (along with a single pin hole in the place dedicated to this species in the original collection box), this specimen is then recognised as being the holotype.

Material examined. Holotype 3, Madagascar, collection Fallou, 259–95, MNHN (EH) 4768 (MNHN). Madagascar est, Ivontaka 8m, dct Maroansetra, III.58 Soga-Raharizonina, Institut scientifique Madagascar, I. Podisus signoreti Fallou 1891

Podisus signoreti Fallou, 1891, SPECIES INQUIRENDA Podisus signoreti Fallou, 1891: 6; Kirkaldy 1909: 21; Thomas 1992: 90. Apateticus (Eupodisus) signoreti: Schouteden 1907: 71; Thomas 1992: 90. Apateticus (Podisus) signoreti: Kirkaldy 1909: 21; Thomas 1992: 90. Comments. Thomas (1992) synonymized Podisus signoreti Fallou, 1891 with P. distinctus Stål, based on a description by Begroth (1911). We were not able to find the type specimen of P. signoreti. Fallou’s collection should be deposited in the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris (Rider 2019); we asked Dr. Dominique Pluot-Sigwalt and Dr. Eric Guilbert from MNHN who reported the type of P. signoreti is missing in the collection and is apparently lost. Based on our interpretation, both the descriptions by Fallou (1891) and Bergroth (1911) are insufficient to conclude that P. signoreti is a synonym of P. fuscescens rev. stat.. The features described by both authors may represent intraspecific variations and can match characteristics of many species in the genus, precluding its undoubtful identification. Thus, we propose to treat P. signoreti as species inquirenda.Published as part of Brugnera, Ricardo, Roell, Talita, Campos, Luiz Alexandre & Grazia, Jocelia, 2020, Taxonomy of widespread Neotropical species of Podisus Herrich-Schäffer (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae: Asopinae): redescription of P. distinctus (Stål, 1860) and revalidation of P. fuscescens (Dallas, 1851), pp. 546-562 in Zootaxa 4751 (3) on page 556, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4751.3.7, http://zenodo.org/record/371478
