    Efficient light extraction from GaN LEDs using gold-coated ZnO nanoparticles

    We experimentally demonstrate the effect of depositing gold-coated ZnO nanoparticles on the surface of GaN multi-quantum well LED structures.     An Online Numeral Recognition System Using Improved Structural Features – A Unified Method for Handwritten Arabic and Persian Numerals

    With the advances in machine learning techniques, handwritten recognition systems also gained importance. Though digit recognition techniques have been established for online handwritten numerals, an optimized technique that is writer independent is still an open area of research. In this paper, we propose an enhanced unified method for the recognition of handwritten Arabic and Persian numerals using improved structural features. A total of 37 structural based features are extracted and Random Forest classifier is used to classify the numerals based on the extracted features. The results of the proposed approach are compared with other classifiers including Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN). Four different well-known Arabic and Persian databases are used to validate the proposed method. The obtained average 96.15% accuracy in recognition of handwritten digits shows that the proposed method is more efficient and produces better results as compared to other techniques

Zingapan,  Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University  This study aims to discuss digital access to the Learning Resources Center services and resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.The PMU LRC’s response on the pandemic situation during the periods of closure concerning resources and services is discussed and analyzed. The LRC implements new virtual services and expands the electronic resources to ensure that the PMU community is able to access the resources and information that they needed. The LRC makes efforts to gain access to their digital and physical collections as well as to provide their services remotely, with the transformation of teaching from traditional style to distance learning.There are several virtual initiatives that LRC has taken to promote digital access to the library resources and to make LRC services more efficient while challenging to deliver access to information with library closure. The researchers also examine the changes that PMU library has made to library services throughout the year 2020.</p
