No full textBu çalışmada Türk basın-yayın ve siyasi hayatında milliyetçi ve muhafazakar kimliğiyle öne çıkan çok önemli bir gazeteci ve yazar, deneyimli bir bürokrat ve aynı zamanda bir avukat olan Galip Erdem’in hayatı ve kişiliği incelenmiştir. Galip Erdem basın-yayın hayatı boyunca yazı işleri müdürlüğü, yazarlık ve genel yayın yönetmenliği gibi çok aktif görevlerde bulunmuştur. Galip Erdem bu görevlerini Türk Yurdu, Orkun, Tercüman, Son Havadis, Yeni İstanbul, Bizim Anadolu, Zafer, Bab-ı Alide Sabah, Ortadoğu, Ölçü, Devlet, Bozkurt, Yeni Sözcü, Bakış, Töre ve Millî Hareket isimli dönemin milliyetçi ve muhafazakar görüşte olan dergi ve gazetelerinde sürdürmüştür. Kendisi bu faaliyetleri devam ederken başta Hüseyin Nihal Atsız, Dündar Taşer, Prof. Dr. Osman Turan, Osman Yüksel Serdengeçti ve Emine Işınsu olmak üzere pek çok akademisyen, sanatçı, yazar ve bilim insanıyla birlikte çalışma fırsatı bulmuştur. Çok üretken bir yazar olarak dikkat çeken Galip Erdem’in, sadece Devlet’te 340 makalesi yayınlanarak en fazla makalesi yayınlanan yazar unvanına sahip olmuştur. Kerkük Türklüğüne ise özel bir önem atfeden Galip Erdem, Irak Türkmenlerini devamlı surette Anadolu’nun bir parçası olarak görmüştür. Galip Erdem siyasi yaşamı esnasında ise Samsun, Burdur ve Niğde illerinden 1965, 1969 ve 1973 yıllarında yapılan genel seçimlerde milletvekili adayı olmuştur. Kendisi aynı zamanda 12 Eylül 1980 Darbesi’nden sonra görülen MHP ve Ülkücü Kuruluşlar Davası’nın avukatlarındandır.The life and personality of Galip Erdem, a very notable journalist and writer, an experienced bureaucrat and a lawyer, who stands out with his nationalist and conservative identity in the Turkish press and political life, is analyzed in this study. Galip Erdem worked in very active positions such as editor-in-chief, author and executive editor throughout his press life. Galip Erdem performed these duties in Türk Yurdu, Orkun, Tercüman, Son Havadis, Yeni İstanbul, Bizim Anadolu, Zafer, Bab-ı Alide Sabah, Ortadoğu, Ölçü, Devlet, Bozkurt, Yeni Sözcü, Bakış, Töre ve Millî Hareket, which were nationalist and rightwinger magazines and newspapers of the period. While continuing these activities, he had the opportunity to work with a great many academicians, artists, authors and scientists, especially Hüseyin Nihal Atsız, Dündar Taşer, Prof. Dr. Osman Turan, Osman Yüksel Serdengeçti and Emine Işınsu. Galip Erdem, who was a very prolific author, had 340 articles published only in Devlet newspaper, making him the author with the highest number of articles published. Galip Erdem, who attributed special importance to Kirkuk Turkishness, always considered Iraqi Turkmen as a part of Anatolia. During his political life, Galip Erdem became a candidate for parliamentarian from Samsun, Burdur and Niğde in the general elections held in 1965, 1969 and 1973. EDS Type 4 is characterized bydefects in type III collagen synthesis, leading to tissue fragility, which can manifest in multiple systems,including the craniofacial region. The association of CLP with EDS Type 4 is less frequently documented butunderscores the importance of thorough prenatal diagnosis when EDS is suspected.In this case, the patient was diagnosed as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Type 4, Autosomal Dominant (Vascular typeEDS) with a diagnosis of bilateral cleft lip and palate and bilateral pes equinovarus in the 2nd trimester prenatalultrasonography and heterozygous mutation in COL3A1 gene as a result of whole exon sequencing performedby cordocentesis and her pregnancy was terminated at 32 weeks with the family request and perinatologycouncil recommendation.Prenatal ultrasonography, genetic examination and perinatology consultation are very important in theapproach to anomalies with expected severe morbidity.Anahtar Kelimeler: ehlers danlos syndrome, prenatal ultrasonography, genetic</p

No full textXX. asrın Türkiye'sinde yetişen, Diyanet şleri Başkanlığı vazifesiyle de üst düzey kadrolarda hizmet vermiş önemli simalardan biri de hiç şüphesiz Hasan Hüsnü Erdem'dir. Klasik Osmanlı medreselerinde geçen tahsil hayatının yanı sıra; modern tarzda da eğitim görmüş ve ilmin verilerinden istifade etme metodundaki her iki anlayışı mezcedebilme becerisi, onu ilmû bir şahsiyet olarak öne çıkarmıştır. Çalışma hayatı boyunca, pratik yönünü gözettiği, tercüme ve derleme şeklinde, ayrıca müstakillen kaleme aldığı pek çok eser telif etmiştir. Bunlardan, doksan iki adet kudsû hadisi ihtiva eden lâhû hadisler adlı eserini rivayet tekniği açısından tanımaya yönelik bu çalışma kapsamına, eserde müellif tarafından belirtilen ve ayrıca araştırma neticesinde tespit ettiğimiz Sahûhayn hadisleri dışındaki altmış dokuz rivayet dahildir. Bu altmış dokuz rivayetle ilgili, yazarın işaret ettiği kaynakların büyük bir kısmına ulaşılmıştır. Söz konusu rivayetler için kaynak olarak, hadis külliyatının ikinci tabakasına, genellikle de, içlerinde zayıf hatta uydurma rivayetler de bulunan, üçüncü ve dördüncü tabakasına dahil eserlerin kullanıldığı görülmektedir. Buna göre çalışmanın mahiyeti şöyle özetlenebilir: Birinci bölüm, Hasan Hüsnü Erdem'in hayatı, eserleri, ve kudsû hadis kavramını konu edinmektedir. kinci bölümde ise Erde' in söz konusu eseri tanıtılıp hadislerin tahrici yapılmıştır. Sonuç bölümünde ise, tahriç edilen rivayetlerin, kaynakları, nitelikleri ve sahabe ravileri açısından bir değerlendirilmesi sunulmuştur.He has been able to get education and benefit the data of science in both understanding as night school at Classical Ottoman Moslem seminary and education in modern style. This put forward him as a scientific personality. During his working life, he has compiled many books in translation and compilation that he considered their practice side also he wrote himself many books. ?Qudsi Hadiths/traditions? which composes 92 Qudsi Hadiths/traditions and this is a work which is intended to be known in narrative technique also there are sixty nine narrative which were determine by author and also we have determined at the end of research except ?sahihayn/actually Hadiths?. Regarding these sixty nine narratives, it has been reached to many of sources which are pointed by author. As the source for mentioned narratives, the works in second, third and fourth stage of Hadiths Corpus there are usually weak even untruth narratives, have been used. According to those explanations, the content of this study can be summarized as follows: The Life and Works of Hasan Hüsnü Erdem and Qudsi Hadiths/tradition concept have been subject at the first section. The mentioned works of Erdem have been introduced and the abovementioned work has been introduced and the Hadiths which were pointed at have been evaluated at the second section At the conclusion section, an evaluation have been submitted about the sources, the qualifications and narrator friends of our Prophet of analyzed narratives

China and Russia have made a number of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and improve cooperation on a number of economic/political/diplomatic fronts. Since the mid-1990s, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has been an important feature of Eurasian politics and a vehicle to forge a new sort of cooperation between China and Russia. A number of issues related to geopolitics, security, the economy, and regional politics have been handled by the SCO member states
Investigating the Effect of Restaurant Menu Labelling on Consumer Food Choices Using a Field Experiment
No full textPurpose The aim is to explore the impact of new menu labels on consumers' actual meal purchases with a field experiment undertaken in a local restaurant. Design/methodology/approach The author used a field experiment in a natural eating environment at a restaurant to investigate the effect of restaurant menu labelling on consumers' meal choices and opinions on the use of nutritional labels on menus. The experiment included control and treatment conditions in which we offered customers unlabelled and labelled menus, respectively. After individuals' dining experience, the data on meal choices and attitudes to menu labelling was collected via a brief questionnaire. The author then performed inferential statistical analysis to test differences between the control and treatment conditions and logistic regression analysis to explore further what predicts the probability of labels being influential on meal choice. Findings The study finds that the information provided to the consumers on restaurant menus matters. The more useful the information is perceived by consumers, the more likely the labels will influence their choices. Calorie content and the walking minutes to burn those calories on labels were considered the most useful aspect of the menu labels. Originality/value The study contributes to a better understanding of the impact of menu labelling on actual meal purchases, as well as the best way to communicate calorie and nutrient information to consumers. The author also shares her experience designing a field experiment with a restaurateur for future research.Output Status: Forthcoming/Available Onlin
Thomas Sharp's collaboration with H. de C. Hastings: The formulation of townscape as urban design pedagogy
No full textThis paper focuses on the collaboration between the Architectural Review's (AR) chief editor and proprietor Hubert de Cronin Hastings (1902-1986) and planner Thomas Sharp (1901-1978) in the formulation and dissemination of Townscape as urban design pedagogy in the period between 1935 and 1955. This pedagogy proved effective in questioning the modernist planning attitude defined by the CIAM congresses and the prevalent Garden City mentality of the New Town proposals during post-World War II reconstruction efforts. Growing out of the shared interests and ideological affinities of the people engaged in British post-war reconstruction, 'Townscape' emerged as the result of a collective effort of those affiliated with Hastings for which Nikolaus Pevsner, Thomas Sharp and Gordon Cullen assumed major roles. If the Architectural Press has been the linchpin of this propagation by several books including those by Sharp and the articles published within AR, Sharp's role as a practicing planning consultant was influential, but more importantly institutional in disseminating 'Townscape'. The intermittent collaboration between Hastings and Sharp was a part of Hastings's unrelenting effort in conceptualizing a model of environmental intervention linked to ideals of cultural continuity. Townscape series remained a part of AR during Hastings's editorial reign for more than a quarter century, repeating the same message for different contextual cases as an instrument of teaching its readers how to perceive, visualize and intervene into the urban environment, as much as Townscape was an inseparable component of Sharp's career as planner, lecturer and author that established precedents for many planners to follow

Broadband, White Light Emission from Doped and Undoped Insulators
No full textWe present data on broadband, white light emission from insulating hosts under intense excitation in the near infrared in host materials that are undoped, partially-doped with rare earth ions, and that contain stoichiometric concentrations of rare earth ions. Much of the emission is found to have a blackbody-like structure in the visible and near infrared region. The origin of the emission as from a blackbody is also supported by the temporal characteristics of the emission in response to turning on and off the laser, and also by the dependence of the air pressure in the chamber. However, some of the data presented cannot be explained by blackbody emission alone, so other processes are proposed to explain the observed spectra. The role of the rare earth ion dopants in enhancing the broadband emission is also considered. (c) The Author(s) 2017. Published by ECS. All rights reserved
