    This article investigates the relationship between trauma and writing in Chloé Delaume’s oeuvre. Autofiction, the genre chosen by the French author, together with her personal idea of literature, creates a fictional universe whose aim is to change the real one. In this way, trauma is, at the same time, the subject of Delaume’s books and the result she wants to achieve. The mise en scène of her private story, through formal research and language experimentation, aspires to create a new identity for herself and to involve her readers in an individual search for awareness

    Alternative analyses of political representation in urban Congressional districts

    This dissertation critically examines the processes and outcomes of the representative constituency relationship within urban congressional districts in the United States. In each of the dissertation’s three essays, the project addresses the following claims: 1) studies of representation within a political jurisdiction may be more robustly addressed through analyses of a variety of tools that members use to foster relationships with their constituencies; 2) members who represent racial and ethnic minorities and other politically marginalized or vulnerable constituencies utilize a number of these tools of representation to develop and maintain relationships with their constituencies; and 3) the study of representation in the U.S. is intrinsically linked to conceptual and physical spatial elements that define the parameters of political behavior toward particular constituents or communities. The project incorporates data from a variety of sources including participant observation and interviews of congressional staff as well as congressional hearings, appropriations earmarks, and census data to substantiate both the overall claims as well as specific conclusions posed within each essay.Ph.D.Includes bibliographical referencesIncludes vitaby Marika-Eugenia Dun

    Assembling identity: the object-portrait in American art, 1917-1927

    I examine the social and historical context for the creation of object-portraits in American art in the decade following the First World War. Object-portraits are portraits in which the artist has replaced an image of the subject’s face or body with an object or a collection of objects. This phenomenon occurs specifically in the postwar moment when several actual and intellectual assault on selfhood – from the mechanization of the Great War, the effects of the Machine Age, developments in the field of psychology that challenged traditional notions of the self, and the burgeoning consumer culture and national advertising industry – caused artists to reassess the very nature of portraiture. What they were faced with was nothing less than the question of what it meant to be human in the modern age. Their answer to this problem, in the form of the object-portraits, redefined the boundaries between subject and object, human and thing. There are three main avenues of interdisciplinary inquiry this study has taken in order to determine how the social history of the self is written upon the object-portrait. First, I examine how contemporary shifts in the growing field of psychology impacted the understanding of identity in such a way as to de-center the self away from both the body and from the concept of a unified stable core. Object-portraits responded to this de-tabilizing of identity by searching for other means of visualizing the subject. Second, I analyze the history of technology and specifically of the body-machine metaphor to consider the various ways the object-portraits evince both a fascination with, and anxiety about, the machine in its myriad forms. And finally, I examine the contemporary advertising industry and consumer culture ideology, fueled by the application of psychology to commerce, and its manipulation of the subject/object relationship. I argue that the object-portraits, particularly the ones that appropriate an advertising aesthetic, participated in and commented on this marketed discourse. Therefore, the object-portraits examined here appear at the intersection of several histories.     Per uno studio dell'autocommento tassiano alle rime amorose

    The research considered the study of the Tasso expositions accompanying the love rhymes, published in Mantua in 1591 by the publisher Osanna. Graphically contiguous to the text, the commentary gives the print a semblance of prosimeter, strongly characterising the mise en page and constituting a factor of extreme cohesion between the rhymes. The commentary is organised in notes of various extensions and their classification, carried out according to a precise taxonomy, is functional for a greater understanding and evaluation of Tasso’s exegetical practice: alongside explanatory notes, placed to clarify the verses, there emerge metrical, rhetorical and semantic observations, as well as annotations in which the author makes explicit the models of his poetry, alluded to by allusion or precise quotation. Written at a distance of time from the writing of the texts, the commentary is thus part of Tasso’s composite corpus of theoretical reflections on lyricism, expanding, therefore, a production that takes the form of works significantly influenced by the genre chosen and practised by the author. The complexity of this commentary emerges, again, in the unfolding of the variegated literary and philosophical substratum that underpins the lyric experience and gives to readers a specific image of the author.Il progetto propone uno studio delle esposizioni tassiane che corredano le rime amorose, pubblicate a Mantova nel 1591 presso l’editore Osanna. Graficamente contigue al testo, le prose di commento conferiscono alla stampa una parvenza di prosimetro, caratterizzandone fortemente la mise en page e costituendo un fattore di estrema coesione tra le rime. Il commento è organizzato in chiose di varia estensione e la loro classificazione, realizzata secondo una ben precisa tassonomia, è funzionale per una maggiore comprensione e valutazione della pratica esegetica tassiana: accanto a note esplicative, poste a chiarimento dei versi, emergono osservazioni metriche, retoriche, semantiche, nonché annotazioni in cui l’autore esplicita i modelli della sua poesia, richiamati mediante allusione o precisa citazione. Scritto a distanza di tempo rispetto alla stesura dei testi, il commento si inserisce, quindi, all’interno del composito corpus tassiano di riflessione teorica sulla lirica, ampliando, dunque, una produzione che si concretizza in opere notevolmente influenzate dal genere scelto e praticato dall’autore. La complessità di tale commento emerge, ancora, nel dispiegamento del variegato sostrato letterario e filosofico che sostiene l’esperienza lirica e che restituisce ai lettori una specifica immagine dell’autore. Ne deriva, dunque, la possibilità di ricostruire una fitta rete di richiami intertestuali, riflesso di una scrittura che si configura sempre più come sintesi delle letture del poeta. Notevole, in tal senso, risulta l’analisi dei volumi della “biblioteca dell’autore” e, in particolare, delle postille che presentano legami con le esposizioni. Altro fronte di ricerca si rivela, infine, l’intertestualità interna al corpus tassiano, con l’individuazione di zone di contatto tra le esposizioni e altri loci dell’autore, determinando una ricezione articolata della sua produzione, in cui tra l’autocommento e i richiami alle opere tassiane e ai postillati si instaura un vivace dialogo di riprese interne.Cette recherche concerne l’étude du commentaire de Tasso sur les rimes amoureuses, publiées à Mantoue en 1591. L’œuvre, publiée par les éditeurs Osanna, se présente comme une extraordinaire expérience poétique et, en même temps, comme un produit typographique original où, en combinant poésie, théorie lyrique et philosophie, Tasso commente ses propres rimes d’amour avec de précieuses notes exégétiques. En illustrant l’intention programmatique de la première partie, on peut donc déjà entrevoir le cachet habituel de l’auteur où se mêlent autobiographie, apologie et construction de son rôle d’écrivain au sein du milieu courtisan, une combinaison subtile qui caractérisera, de manière encore plus structurée que dans les autres productions de Tasso, ce recueil de rimes, dernier produit du labeur du poète. Orientant le lecteur dans l’interprétation correcte des textes par la rédaction de gloses exégétiques, le poète jongle avec les auctoritates anciennes et modernes, les sources littéraires, philosophiques et historiques. Ainsi Tasso, en proposant la paraphrase d’un vers, en soulignant une figure de rhétorique, ou encore en commentant une forme grammaticale particulière, permet au lecteur d’explorer son propre atelier poétique. Pour un auteur de plus en plus soucieux de s’afficher comme un poète doctus, faire comprendre le texte lyrique, signifie faire apprécier au lecteur sa complexité et le familiariser avec les choix et les raisons poétiques

Theoretical part provides characteristics of this part of speech and highlights some differences between Russian and English. Language typology clarifies particularly features which are typical for synthetic and analytical languages. The second chapter is concerned with an overview of possible classifications of adjectives where these classifications are organized according to syntactical, morphological and semantic point of view. Practical part is devoted to the comparison itself. To attain clear arrangement, rules for the creation of comparative and superlative adjectival forms are described for each language separately. The main facts about comparison in both languages are then compared in the last chapter of the bachelor thesis. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out whether the use of digital tools in the performance of homework does not reduce the importance and quality of homework. Several methods have been used in the study: the method of theoretical research, the descriptive method, and in some cases, the comparative and quantitative methods have also been used. As a result of the research, the possibilities of digital tools to use mathematics in homework in the 5th grade for ordinary parts and mixed numbers have been explored. Khan Academy is the most appropriate, as it allows you to take notes based on an example and has instructional videos and materials on the relevant topic.     Hybrid studies for the implementation of inclusive education in the university

    Maģistra darba Hibrīdās studijas augstskolā iekļaujošas izglītības īstenošanai darba autore Marika Tereščenko aktualizējusi hibrīdo studiju nozīmi studiju procesā kā iekļaujošās izglītības īstenošanas formu. Maģistra darba mērķis ir analizēt hibrīdā studija procesa izaicinājumus, iespējas un trūkumus un izstrādāt ieteikumus iekļaujošās izglītības īstenošanai augstskolas studiju procesā. Pētījumā ir izmantotas vairākas metodes: zinātniskās literatūras un dokumentu analīze, kvantitatīvā pētījuma metode – aptauja studentiem. Pētījuma rezultātā ir noskaidrots, ka hibrīds studiju process palīdz studentiem papildus apgūt nepieciešamas prasmes, jo šādi ir iespējams īstenot dažādus formātus, kā piemēram, seminārus, lekcijas klātienē, vai individuālos, grupu vai pāru darbus, diskusijas, prezentācijas veidošanu, lomu spēles (simulācijas), vai atgādņu veidošanu un/vai izmantošanu, sadarbības veidošanu tiešsaistē gan mazās, gan lielās grupās.The author of the Master's thesis Hybrid studies for the Implementation of inclusive education in the university, Marika Tereshchenko, highlighted the importance of hybrid studies in the study process as a form of implementation of inclusive education. The aim of the master's thesis is to analyze the challenges, opportunities, and shortcomings of the hybrid study process and to develop recommendations for the implementation of inclusive education in the university study process. Several methods have been used in the research: analysis of scientific literature and documents, quantitative research method - survey for students. As a result of the research, it has been established that the hybrid study process helps students to additionally learn the necessary skills, as it is possible to implement various formats, such as seminars, face-to-face lectures, or individual, group, or pair work, discussions, creating a presentation, role-playing games (simulations), or creating and/or using memories, creating online collaboration in both small and large groups.
