    This study aims to analyse Jiu Valley social services profile using a qualitative perspective – focus grup analysis, by investigating perceptions of social services professionals from Jiu Valley, Hunedoara County, Romania. The qualitative methods of investigation, particularly important in achieving a comprehensive profile of social services from the Jiu Valley was to achieve a focused discussion sessions on social services. The following objectives were targeted by focus group: analysis of social professionals’ perception on social services from the Jiu Valley, Hunedoara County and identifying internal and external factors, to put their mark on the functioning of social services. Upon completion of discussions session focusing on social services in the Jiu Valley to conclude on the following aspects: social professionals perceive favorable development of social services in the Jiu Valley region in the period 2002-2008, and considering the dynamic development of these services is progressive. There are a number of elements which are seen by professionals as catalysts for the proper functioning and development of social services and factors inhibiting or blocking the functioning of these services

    Integration in a workplace is an interaction rapport between the individual and the environment. The process of professional integration is strongly linked to the professional aspiration, individual expectations, motivation, and work satisfaction. Placing young graduates of superior studies on the labour market is a challenge for contemporary society. Identifying a suitable work place as well as the certainty of the attained work place are very important elements for young superior studies graduates in the current context of economic crysis. The difficulties in getting a job for superior studies graduates are most frequently associated with lacks in what regards the speciality practical skills and generally, insertion in the work market is achived by getting a position in fields that are related or even different from the speciality field. In an extremely unstable social and economic context, people’s ability to quickly adapt to the requirements of the labour market is fundamental. In this respect, education and professional training have an important role, contributing to the update of knowledge, skills and qualifications of superior studies graduates or future superior studies graduates, eventually allowing them to stay active, flexible, adapted to the situations and requirements of the labour market

    Cross-European Perspective in Social Work Education: A Good Blended Learning Model of Practice

    European social work education needs to be linked to global demands and contemporary social transformations. It must also be elaborated in accordance with the objectives of sustainable development in higher education and the specific needs of students. This article describes a model of good practice in social work education in a European project that used modern learning models tailored to the changing needs of students from six European country partners in the project. The research methodology used qualitative methods, namely the case study, which in turn combined the use of two research methods: the analysis of the project documents and the observation of the formal and informal aspects of the operation and organization of the project. The results of the survey show that learning modalities based on combining different forms of traditional and modern online learning, such as media learning, Internet connection and virtual lectures, lead to new ways of involvement and active participation in the learning process. To conclude, in the social work field, for the first time at the European level, this project brought added value to cross-border education, proving its innovating character. Through this project, pedagogical solutions were created and adapted to the changing needs of students

    The challenges associated with the ageing population are important and continuous growth across the world, especially in Europe, the continent with the oldest population. The fundamental objective of active ageing interventions is to optimise opportunities for health, participation and security so as to increase the quality of life of the population with ageing. The Active Ageing Index is a flexible comparative analysis tool that has the mission to help promote and implement active ageing. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to analyse the phenomenon of active ageing from the perspective of the active ageing index in the European area. The methodology used consisted of document analysis, study for several countries in the European space such as: Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain, Romania, analysis and comparison of statistic data. The results obtained show that the role of this active ageing index is to capture the various facets of active ageing, measuring the contribution of older people (women and men) to economic and social life and to the extent to which the environment in which they live stimulates them in this regard to provide more active participation in employment, social life and to lead independent lives

    Institutional communication in situations of media crisis is an essential form of communication based on concise plans and strategies applied at key moments. The PR department is prepared at any time to react appropriately to media publications that affect the institutional image. For communication in media crisis situations, a team of professionals is formed to manage the situation, and this team has the mission to identify the possible implications that the organization could face. The present study aimed at analyzing some media crisis situations in the institutional history of the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the one hand, and on the other hand proceeded to an analysis of the communication strategies that led to overcoming the media crises. The methodology used was of a qualitative type based on the elaboration of instrumental case studies. The conclusions of the analysis reflected that the strategies applied to combat media crisis situations are essential by means of predetermined action plans implemented in the effective management of crisis situation

    The complex instruction is a combination of pedagogical strategies and promotes equal-status interactions among students as they engage with tasks that have high cognitive demand within a cooperative learning environment. The complex instruction model capitalizes the strategically resources of the active receptions and organized discovery of the knowledge. At the basis of this model there is the conscious learning, having an epistemological and practical reason (the improvement of the teacher and pupil’s activity).
