No full textOn the 150th anniversary of Florida\u27s statehood, historians Nick Wynne and James Horgan compiled a collection of essays that illustrated the history of Florida by focusing on the major events in each decade since the mid-1800s. Schnur wrote the chapter that examined the battle between old Florida (the Pork Chop Gang ) and new Florida (the Lamb Chop politicians) that took place over education, the role and scope of government, legislative apportionment, race relations, and the civil rights movement. This article appears in its original form from the book; each author retained copyright and redistribution rights for their works. The first presentation took place on 18 November 2015 as the inaugural program at the new Seminole Historical Society Museum. Subsequent programs included talks at the Friends of the Seminole Community Library annual luncheon on 29 January 2016, the New Horizons for Widowed People Talk on 6 February 2016, and a special author presentation at the Seminole Community Library on 28 February 2016. The video version of this program is from a public lecture that took place in the Pinellas Room at Heritage Village on 13 March 2013

The book chapter evaluates the challenges that African Americans had to confront in segregated Florida during the Second World War. The chapter also discusses how these events shaped the growing demands for civil rights in the postwar years. The original paper won the Florida Historical Society\u27s LeRoy Collins Prize for best graduate essay in Florida History. Also included in this file are publicity materials about a lecture Schnur offered on this topic at a Student Forum for the USFSP Campus Lecture Series on 20 January 1993, at the annual meeting of the Florida Historical Society in Pensacola on 21 May 1993, and a copy of the speech transcript that includes additional information edited from the book chapter
„Pearls on a string“ – The Scenic Panorama as a creative method in integrative supervision
No full textDiese Arbeit stellt theoretisch und praxeologisch das auf der Grundlage verschiedener kreativer Methoden des integrativ-systemischen Ansatzes entwickelte „Szenische Panorama“ vor. Anhand eines persönlichen Szenischen Panoramas mit relevanten Stationen seiner eigenen beruflichen Entwicklung beschreibt der Autor anschaulich die Entstehungsgeschichte dieser Methode. Zentrales Strukturelement beim Szenischen Panorama ist die rote Schnur, anhand derer der Klient mit Figuren und vielfältigen weiteren Gegenständen wichtige Szenen seiner Lebensgeschichte und Berufsbiographie als dreidimensionales Bild aufstellt. Über spielerisches Handeln, nonverbale Ausdrucksformen und das betrachtende Auswertungsgespräch können mit dieser Methode komplexe soziale Themen bearbeitet und neue Wahrnehmungs- und Handlungsbereiche erschlossen werden. Der Autor stellt konzeptionelle und theoretische Bezüge zu relevanten Begriffen wie Autobiografisches Gedächtnis, Identitätsentwicklung, Szene-Begriff und Panoramatechnik her. Abschließend werden die praktische Durchführung des Szenischen Panoramas in der Einzelsupervision sowie weitere Anwendungsmöglichkeiten der Methode dargestellt.In theory and praxeology this work presents the „Scenic Panorama“ developed basing on various creative methods of integrative-systemic approach. Using a personal scenic panorama with relevant stages of his own professional development the author concretely describes the evolutionary history of this method. The central structural element in Scenic Panorama is the red string, on the basis of which the client sets up important scenes from his life story and professional biography with figures and multifaceted other objects as a three-dimensional view. By the way of playful action, non-verbal forms of expression and the surveying evaluation discussion using this method complex social issues can be handled and new fields of perception and applications can be opened. The author establishes conceptual and theoretical references to relevant terms such as autobiographical memory, identity development, scene concept and panorama technique.
