Screening of steroids as adulterants in food supplements
HPTLC is often the best analytical technique for screening a large number of samples cha- racterized by a complex matrix, as in the case of adulteration and fraud. HPTLC is simple, flexible, relatively inexpensive and a useful analytical tool for laboratories involved in food control to screen several classes of adulterants. The use of more expensive and sensitive tech- niques, such as HPLC coupled to different de- tectors, can be limited only to the positive sam- ples, allowing a wider control of the market

Progettista, illustratore, caricaturista, docente, Piero Portaluppi (Milano, 19 marzo 1888 - 6 luglio 1967) è stato un protagonista eclettico e raffinato del panorama culturale italiano del Novecento. Egli ha lasciato un segno profondo nell’architettura di Milano, dove ha realizzato tra gli anni Venti e i Sessanta numerosi edifici eleganti e originali, che mostrano una profonda conoscenza degli stili classici, il rispetto per la storia e il carattere del luogo, ma insieme una espressività del tutto personale, una spiccata ironia e uno sguardo attento verso le novità. Nelle sue opere spiccano la maestria nel declinare diversi linguaggi, la ricerca di una continua variazione di volumetrie e temi decorativi, la preziosità dei materiali, la raffinatezza delle scelte cromatiche, la cura del dettaglio, aspetti che lo qualificano come uno dei migliori interpreti della cultura dell’alta borghesia del tempo, seppure non manchino tratti visionari e critici. Il Palazzo della Società Buonarroti-Carpaccio-Giotto (1926-1930) in corso Venezia è stato scelto come spazio ideale per un'esperienza progettuale che avvicini lo studente alla pratica concreta del fare architettura e lo costringa al confronto con una delle opere più complesse e colte di Portaluppi. La mostra presenta progetti che ridisegnano l’interno oggi occupato dall’associazione culturale “Looking at Art”, studiati per rispondere alla richiesta di disegnare un ambiente multifunzionale, che possa essere alternativamente luogo di lavoro e di studio, centro espositivo, temporary store, spazio didattico per l’arte. In uno spazio di dimensioni ridotte, vengono affrontati temi complessi quali il progettare in sezione, la flessibilità e la trasformabilità, la criticità della soglia quale filtro tra interno ed esterno, tra vetrina e strada. Ciò che emerge sono diverse idee di abitare l’interno e relazionarsi con l’esistente. Una raccolta tematica di fotografie mostra il percorso di osservazione e studio dell’opera dell’architetto fatta da ogni studente come premessa necessaria al progetto.Student’s projects from Interior Design Studio 2018/2019 | AIUC – Politecnico di Milano, Proff. Designer, cartoonist, caricaturist, academician, Piero Portaluppi (Milan, 19 March 1888 - 6 July 1967) was an eclectic and sophisticated protagonist of the Italian culture in the Twentieth century. His architecture left a strong legacy in Milan, where he built numerous elegant and original buildings between the 20s and the 60s, demonstrating a deep knowledge of classical styles, a deference towards the history and nature of the place, as well as a unique expressiveness, a strong irony and a remarkable sensitivity for novelties. Visiting his buildings, the attention is captured by many aspects: the mastery in adopting different languages, the continuous variations in volumes and decorations, the refined use of materials and colours, the care for details. His peculiar attitude qualifies Portaluppi as one of the best interpreter of the bourgeois culture of his time, still marked by a visionary and critical spirit. The Palazzo della Società Buonarroti-Carpaccio-Giotto (1926- 1930) in Corso Venezia is the ideal place for a design experience that brings the students closer to the practice of architecture. The task is particularly challenging, since it forces to face with the eclectic palace, one of Portaluppi’s masterpieces. The exhibition presents projects that rearrange the space now occupied by the cultural association "Looking at Art", offering original solutions to the mutual request to design a multifunctional environment, which could alternatively be a place for working and studying, an exhibition centre, a temporary store, an educational art space. The projects deal with complex topics, despite the small dimensions of the interior: planning in section, flexibility and transformability, the theme of the threshold. What emerges are different ideas of dwelling the interior and relating to history. A thematic photo reportage shows the process of observation and study of the architect's buildings that each student experienced as an essential premise to the project

Bovine rumina were subjected to temperatures of 65° and 80°C for 20 min and were compared each other and with raw rumina with PCR-SSCP analysis. Universal primers were used. No differences between heat treated samples and between raw and heat treated samples were observed
Analisi PCR di carne presunta bovina
Meats of Italian and foreign origin were analysed with PCR-SCCP and PCR product sequencing in order to verify foreign meat to belong to bovine (Bos taurus) species. SSCP patterns showed polymorphism which were difficult to categories. Sequencing results showed homologies above 98% between analysed product and bovine and zebu (Bos indicus) sequences
On the cardinality constrained SSTDMA problem
Given a square matrix T of order n, with non negative entries t_ij, the cardinality constrained SSTDMA problem asks for a decomposition of T into a set S={T1,T2,...,Tk} of Latin matrices such that at most L < n elements are present in each matrix of S and the summation of the largest elements in each matrix is minimized. We present some new results on solving the problem via column generation techniques. Computational experiments compare the performances of the proposed approach with those contained in the work [1].
