The molecule exhibits a folded conformation: the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 28.3(1)°. The central ring is characterized by a cis diaxal configuration of hydrogen atoms in the 9, 10 positions, confirming the 13-C NMR results

No full textThe crystal structures of 4,6-dimethyltetrahydrobenzoangelicen (THBA), a furocoumarin analog, and of its furan-side cis-syn cycloadduct with thymine formed in the photoreaction with DNA, have been determined. The crystal structure of the latter compound contained only one enantiomeric form corresponding to the addition to a 5'-XpT site. Contrary to most psoralen derivatives studied, THBA showed higher photoreactivity toward synthetic oligonucleotides containing that sequence than toward those with the 5'-TpX sequence
Synthesis and physico-chemical characterization of [Hf(NEt2)2Cl2(DME)]and its use as catalyst for ethylene polymerization
No full textThe new solid-state complex {[Hf(NEt2)2Cl2(DME)] (DME = 1,2-dimethoxyethane)}, intermediate in the synthesis of the new bis-diethylamide bis-isopropoxy hafnium (IV) complex [Hf(NEt2)2(OiPr)2], has been synthesized, isolated and characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure showed the metal to be hexa-coordinated with a distorted octahedral geometry. Catalytic tests for the polymerization of ethylene have been carried out using this intermediate with [(NHMe2Ph)B(C6F5)4] as cocatalyst. The obtained polymer had a high molecular weight and a high melting point, characteristic of a high density polyethylene (HDPE)
