Vicarious Victimhood as Post-Holocaust Jewish Identity in Erica Fischer\u27s Auto/Biography Aimée and Jaguar
In her article Vicarious Victimhood as Post-Holocaust Jewish Identity in Erica Fischer\u27s Auto/Biography Aimée and Jaguar Anne Rothe reads the Austrian-Jewish journalist\u27s interview-based dual biography in autobiographical terms. Taking recourse to such para-texts as the preface and epilogue, in which Fischer reflects on her own subject position, in addition to the auto/biographical narrative itself, Rothe critiques the notion of constructing secular Jewish identity based on the notion of vicarious or hereditary Holocaust victimhood. This provocative new reading reveals that the biography Fischer wrote constitutes a counter-narrative to the story her main collaborator, Lilly Wust, told the author about her short-lived love affair with Felice Schragenheim, who was killed in the Holocaust and whom Wust mourned for the rest of her life. Rothe furthermore argues that Fischer rewrites Wust\u27s story to the extent of denying her core identity of vicarious Holocaust victimhood, only to claim this epistemologically and ethically untenable but culturally dominant and coveted subject position for herself

Health Hazard Evaluation Report: HETA-89-344-2157: Wiltech of Florida, Inc.; Kennedy Space Center, Florida; Rothe Development Inc.: Johnson Space Center, Texas
In response to a request from the International Association of Machinists and Allied Workers Union, an evaluation was made of possible hazardous exposures to 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2- trifluoroethane (76131) (FC-113) during the cleaning of aerospace component parts at Wiltech of Florida (SIC-3471), located at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida, and Rothe Development (SIC- 3471) at Johnson Space Center, Texas. A total of 31 workers participated in an in-depth industrial hygiene/medical evaluation. Each wore a monitor to determine cardiac functioning while short term exposure measurements were made for FC-113. At Wiltech the 8-hour time weighted average (8-TWA) exposures for clean room workers ranged from 151 to 439 parts per million (ppm) while at Rothe similar measurements ranged from 70 to 935ppm. Means at each location were 274 and 271ppm, respectively. The 8-TWA readings for preclean workers at Wiltech ranged from 49 to 186ppm with a mean of 110ppm while corresponding measures at Rothe were 2 to 103ppm and 25ppm. During the performance of the sampling task, several exposures at both facilities exceeded 1250ppm, the OSHA short term exposure limit (STEL). No discernible effects were noted on the cardiovascular functions as measured by the heart monitor on these individuals when comparing data from exposure with nonexposure days. The author concludes that FC-113 exposures did not induce cardiac dysrhythmias or changes in cardiac activity. During the sampling task, several exposures exceeded the OSHA STEL. The author recommends specific measures to reduce exposures to FC-113
Solutions of abstract hyperbolic equations by Rothe method.
summary:In this paper abstract hyperbolic equations in which elliptic operator dependent on time is involved are solved by using the so callad Rothe method, i.e. the method of discretisation of given problem in time. Existence and unicity of solution and some of its properties in dependence on various conditions which the given equations satisfy are presented
Machine design to improve accuracy and repeatability in on-site circular milling
Includes bibliographical references (leaves 86-87).This project's objective focuses on machine design to primarily improve accuracy and repeatability in on-site circular machining. On-site circular machining is used in the finishing and repairing of flanges most commonly used for mating with slewing bearings. The expected outcomes of the manufacturing processes are always increasing, therefore requiring higher levels of accuracy. The milling must be performed under a wide range of environmental conditions. The environmental conditions may prohibit the use of high accuracy measurement systems. The factors that effect the achievable accuracy and repeatability of the circular milling process are assessed in this project. From these findings new systems are designed in order to achieve higher degrees of performance in the circular milling process over a larger range of operating conditions
