Le rose del deserto. La quarta sponda fra arditismo e "colonialismo straccione"

    No full text

    No full text
The author introduces a comparative examination among the antithetical communicative expressions of the two terrorist experiences, appeared in the second Italian postwar period: the "black carnages" and the "red paramilitary attacks". Starting from their inverse correlation among the "meaning" and the "meant" of the terrorist "sign", the author reconstruct the opposite languages communicated by these different typologies of attempts

Integrability of close encounters in the spatial restricted three-body problem

    No full text
We extend to the spatial case a technique of integration of the close encounters formulated by Tullio Levi-Civita for the planar restricted three-body problem. We consider the Hamiltonian introduced in the Kustaanheimo-Stiefel regularization and construct a complete integral of the related Hamilton-Jacobi equation by means of a series convergent in a neighborhood of the collisions with the primary or secondary body

    The accelerated Kepler problem

    No full text
The accelerated Kepler problem (AKP) is obtained by adding a constant acceleration to the classical two-body Kepler problem. This setting models the dynamics of a jet-sustaining accretion disk and its content of forming planets as the disk loses linear momentum through the asymmetric jet-counterjet system it powers. The dynamics of the accelerated Kepler problem is analyzed using physical as well as parabolic coordinates. The latter naturally separate the problem's Hamiltonian into two unidimensional Hamiltonians. In particular, we identify the origin of the secular resonance in the AKP and determine analytically the radius of stability boundary of initially circular orbits that are of particular interest to the problem of radial migration in binary systems as well as to the truncation of accretion disks through stellar jet acceleration

Effective Dark Matter Halo Catalog in f (R) Gravity

    No full text
We introduce the idea of an effective dark matter halo catalog in f(R) gravity, which is built using the effective density field. Using a suite of high resolution N-body simulations, we find that the dynamical properties of halos, such as the distribution of density, velocity dispersion, specific angular momentum and spin, in the effective catalog of f(R) gravity closely mimic those in the cold dark matter model with a cosmological constant (ΛCDM). Thus, when using effective halos, an f(R) model can be viewed as a ΛCDM model. This effective catalog therefore provides a convenient way for studying the baryonic physics, the galaxy halo occupation distribution and even semianalytical galaxy formation in f(R) cosmologies

POLLEN DEVELOPMENT IN LIRIODENDRON-TULIPIFERA - SOME UNUSUAL FEATURES

    No full text
Pollen development in Liriodendron tulipifera has some unusual features. Two arrangements in tetrads could be detected: isobilateral and decussate types. The occurrence of one or the other pattern seems to be random. The sulcus position is marked early by an exine fold forming at the beginning of wall deposition at the distal pole of tetrad cells. During increasing microspore volume, the exine outgrowth is unfolded, then stretched and finally broken up, thus exposing the intine below. Plastids are usually excluded from the generative cell, indicating that their inheritance is predominantly maternal. Nevertheless our cytological results give evidence of a trace paternal transmission of plastids. Some evolutionary considerations are mad
