    No full text
This dataset supports the publication: Robust Optical Picometrology Through Data Diversity by Cheng-Hung Chi, Eric Plum, Nikolay I. Zheludev, and Kevin F. MacDonald in JOURNAL: Optical Materials Express The file contains data for optically measured vs. actual displacement values and corresponding std. dev. values (exemplified in Figs. 3a-c and 4a-c, from which Figs. 3d-e, 4d-e, 5, and S2 are derived). [Figures 1, 2, and S1 are schematic diagrams] The project was sponsored by: Next Generation Metrology Driven by Nanophotonics EPSRC EP/T02643X/1 Dataset available under a CC BY 4.0 licence </span

Writing a Wikipedia Article on Cultural Competence in Health Care

    No full text
This article describes how librarians created a Wikipedia article on cultural competence in health care to support the medical school’s curriculum. Wikipedia, often considered not as reliable as scholarly articles, continues to be popular. Rutgers librarians conducted a Wikipedia project to improve its content to benefit students. The importance of cultural competency in health care is widely recognized due to increasingly diverse patient populations. Medical schools integrate cultural competency in curricula to train students to be culturally competent. Therefore, this topic was chosen for the Wikipedia Project. It is hoped that health sciences librarians and educators will benefit from their experience

Optimization and validation of discontinuous Galerkin Code for the 3D Navier-Stokes equations

Thesis (S.M.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Aeronautics and Astronautics, 2011.This electronic version was submitted by the student author. The certified thesis is available in the Institute Archives and Special Collections.Cataloged from student submitted PDF version of thesis.Includes bibliographical references (p. 165-170).From residual and Jacobian assembly to the linear solve, the components of a high-order, Discontinuous Galerkin Finite Element Method (DGFEM) for the Navier-Stokes equations in 3D are presented. Emphasis is given to residual and Jacobian assembly, since these are rarely discussed in the literature; in particular, this thesis focuses on code optimization. Performance properties of DG methods are identified, including key memory bottlenecks. A detailed overview of the memory hierarchy on modern CPUs is given along with discussion on optimization suggestions for utilizing the hierarchy efficiently. Other programming suggestions are also given, including the process for rewriting residual and Jacobian assembly using matrix-matrix products. Finally, a validation of the performance of the 3D, viscous DG solver is presented through a series of canonical test cases.by Eric Hung-Lin Liu.S.M

During a adult education course, Coastal Carolina University professor Eric Crawford examines the newspaper clippings hung and framed around the Sandy Island School. When he asks the course full of residents about them, they also examine them and speculate or relate their meaning to the island.https://digitalcommons.coastal.edu/at-low-tide-videos/1059/thumbnail.jp
