No full textJosep Bernat i Baldoví: the aesthetics of parody The present article is an attempt to show the importance of parody in the literary output of Josep Bernat i Baldoví. It is a well-known fact that humour and burlesque are the basis of the sainet ('short farce'). And the Valencian author in question is no exception. Moreover, without abandoning humorous play, Bernat directs a very considerable part of his creative effort towards exploitation of parody, that is, ludic recreation of literary tradition, so that it becomes a typical feature of his work. And it is not present solely in his plays, but also abounds in his narrative, as manifest by the unfinished novel Els misteris de Patraix ('The mysteries of Patraix'), a parody of the well-known masterpiece of the French newspaper serial by Eugène Sue. The present study of Bernat's dramatic parody enables us to discover the complexity and richness of the various different procedures he used and the diversity of the results obtained

de Josep Bernat i Baldoví. És sabut que la comicitat i el burlesc constitueixen la base del sainet.
I en el cas de la producció de l'autor valencià no és cap excepció. Però, a més a més, sense
abandonar el joc còmic, Bernat dedica una part molt considerable dels seus esforços creatius a fer
ús de la paròdia, és a dir de la recreació lúdica de la tradició literària, de tal manera que arriba a
ser un tret característic de la seua producció. I no sols de la teatral, car també impregna la seua
poesia i la seva narrativa, com exemplifica la novel.la inacabada Els misteris de Patraix, versió
paròdica de la ben coneguda obra mestra del fulletó francès d'Eugène Sue. Aquest treball sobre la
paròdia teatral bernatiana permet descobrir la complexitat i riquesa dels diversos procediments

Del "De Vetula" llatí a la velletona de l'"Ovidi enamorat" de Bernat Metge
No full textAquest treball tracta principalment de la relació entre el text llatí De vetula i la traducció al català feta per Bernat Metge i coneguda com l’Ovidi enamorat. En el primers capítols s’estudien les autories i atribucions de l’original llatí. També s’aporta un breu comentari sobre el manuscrit que conte la traducció metgiana. Un altre punt desenvolupat en aquest article és el concepte de traducció que aplica l’autor al seu text traslladat. També es presenta l’estructura i l’argument de l’obra llatina. Posteriorment es fa una anàlisi del personatge de “la vetula” incidint en els precedents clàssics d’aquesta figura literària. El darrer apartat tracta sobre la intencionalitat que va portar a Bernat Metge a traduir part d’aquest poema narratiu del segle XIII escrit en llatí.This paper deals with the relationship between the Latin text De vetula and the Catalan translation made by Bernat Metge, known as Ovidi enamorat. The author analyzes the possible authorship of the original Latin text, as well as comments on the MSS that contains the Catalan translation. In addition, the author delves into the menaing of translation for Metge and analyzes the character vetula in the work. Finally, there are some consideration on Metge’s intention when translating a 13th-century poem
Autoficción y transmedialidad en el teatro de Roger Bernat
No full textIn the last performances by Roger Bernat, the involvement and participation of the audience is combined with the use of technological devices and the problematization of socio-political issues. In Pending Vote (2012) and mainly in Numax Fagor Plus (2014), that combination destabilizes the position of the playwright in his own creation. His role as the author is inserted into the dramaturgical structure of the pieces, through an exercise of autofiction, which produces a deep and wide reflection about participation, authorship, democracy, revolution, and the position of new media around those concepts nowadays.En los últimos trabajos escénicos de Roger Bernat se conjuga la participación de los espectadores en el desarrollo de las obras, con la utilización de dispositivos tecnológicos y la problematización de cuestiones socio-políticas. En el caso de Pendiente de Voto (2012) y, sobre todo, de Numax Fagor Plus (2014) esa combinación desestabiliza la posición del dramaturgo en su propia creación. De hecho, su rol de autor se inserta en la propia estructura dramatúrgica de la obra, a través de un ejercicio de autoficción que consigue generar una profunda y amplia reflexión sobre la participación, la autoría, la democracia, la revolución y la posición que los medios tecnológicos ocupan hoy en día alrededor de esos conceptos

durant bona part dels anys cinquanta i seixanta del segle XIX, succeint, precisament, l'etapa
de predomini de Bernat i Baldoví. A pesar d'això, hi ha molts pocs estudis sobre
aquest autor, que va tenir gran acceptació entre el públic burgés. En aquest article rastregem l'obra teatral de Liern, i resseguim, a través de la premsa conservadora coetània,
l'acollida que tingueren Bernat i Baldoví, Liern i el teatre valencià en general, entre els
sectors culturals burgesos i conservadors de València. Igualment, explorem la influència
literària de Bernat sobre Liern. Finalment, com una derivació de les diferències entre dos
models teatrals distints i entre grups ideològics i periodístics oposats, assistim a la polèmica
teatral protagonitzada per aquests dos autors.Liern was the main exponent of Valencian drama written in Catalan in Valencia for a
substantial part of the fifties and sixties of the 19th century, right after the predominance
of Bernat i Baldoví. However, there are very few studies of Liern, an author widely
acclaimed by the bourgeoisie. In this article we inventory Liern's theatrical output, and
through the contemporary conservative press assess the popularity of Bernat i Baldoví,
Liern and Valencian drama as a whole among the cultured, conservative sectors of Valencia.
Likewise, we explore Bernat's literary influence on Liern. Finally, the differences
between two different theatrical models and opposing ideological and journalistic groups
lead us to look at a theatrical controversy involving these two authors
