L’histoire d’une mémoire décalée. Grandes Vacances en Angleterre d’Évelyne Pollet

Today’s studies on memory encourage multidirectional memory, which assumes the transdisciplinary perspective and permits new understanding of texts which address traumatic events of the previous century. This is so in the case of Evelyne Pollet (1905-2005). Her largely autobiographical novel Grandes vacances en Angleterre (1945) is a record of a Belgian refugee family’s stay in Great Britain during World War One. This would not be particularly interesting if it had not been for the fact that the author does it near the end of the second global conflict. Her return to the events of 1914 1918 is not coincidental. Pollet purposefully turns the reader’s attention away from the inglorious chapters of her biography, her close ties with the collaborators’ literary milieu, and her intensive editorial work during the occupation. Grandes vacances en Angleterre is an example of instrumental approach to the type of memory referred to ‘displaced memory’.Today’s studies on memory encourage multidirectional memory, which assumes the transdisciplinary perspective and permits new understanding of texts which address traumatic events of the previous century. Checklist of Dolichopodidae of Croatia OF THE 64 SPECIES COLLECTED IN THIS STUDY, ONLY 10 WERE PREVIOUSLY RECORDED FROM CROATIA (KECHEV & IVANOVA 2015; NAGLIS 2017) AND THUS 54 REPRESENT FIRST RECORDS. FURTHERMORE, IN THE FRAME OF ANOTHER PROJECT (POLLET & STARK in press) SPECIMENS OF Orthoceratium lacustre (SCOPOLI, 1763) FROM CROATIA WERE DETECTED, WHICH RAISES THE TOTAL NUMbER OF SPECIES OF CROATIA TO 94. THE IDENTITY OF THE SPECIES REPORTED bY KECHEV & IVANOVA (2015) COULD NOT bE CHECKED AND ARE INCORPORATED IN THE CHECKLIST AS MENTIONED bY THESE AUTHORS. IN THE PRESENT CHECKLIST, SPECIES ARE ARRANGED ALPHAbETICALLY, WITH THE SUbFAMILY INDICATED bETWEEN bRACKETS FOR EACH SPECIES. SPECIES RECORDS REFERRING TO OUR SURVEYS HAVE THE FOLLOWING FORMAT [LOCALITY ID, SEE TAbLE 1]: NUMbER OF MALES, NUMbER OF FEMALES, SAMPLING PERIOD/DATE, COLLECTING METHOD. COMPLETE LAbEL DATA ARE GIVEN FOR THE O. lacustre SPECIMEN. THE DISTRIbUTION OF ALL RECORDS (INCLUDING THOSE FROM THE LITERATURE) FROM COUNTIES OF CROATIA IS GIVEN IN TAbLE 4. WHEREVER POSSIbLE, INFORMATION ON THE HAbITAT OF THE SPECIES IS ALSO ADDED AS WELL AS ITS DISTRIbUTION, IN PARTICULAR FOR SPECIES OF SPECIAL FAUNISTIC INTEREST. THIS INFORMATION IS bASED ON THE PRIVATE EURODOL MICROSOFT ACCESS DATAbASE OF THE SENIOR AUTHOR, LITERATURE AND HIS EXPERT JUDGEMENT. ......continued on the next page 1. ? Achalcus phragmitidis Pollet, 1996 (ACHALCINAE) – new to Croatia [26] 1♀, 2.VI.2014, ET. Habitat. RECORDED FROM MARSHLANDS AND SWAMPS, FROM bRACKISH REED MARSHES TO ALDER CARRS. THUS FAR ONLY RECORDED FROM BELGIUM (POLLET 1996). Remarks. THIS FEMALE SPECIMEN SHOWS A DARK bROWN THORAX WITH TWO bROWNISH YELLOW ZONES ALONG THE DORSOCENTRAL bRISTLES, PARTLY bROWNISH YELLOW PLEURA AND A POSTPRONOTUM WITH TWO ROUND bROWNISH YELLOW SPOTS. THIS COLORATION DISTINGUISHES IT FROM Achalcus thalhammeri LICHTWARDT, 1913 WITH A MOSTLY ENTIRELY DARK bROWN THORAX (POLLET 1996). HOWEVER, IN THE AbSENCE OF MALES AND ESPECIALLY IN THE CASE OF SPECIMENS FROM SOUTHERN EUROPE, IT IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED TO bE CAUTIOUS IN ASSIGNING NAMES TO FEMALES, HENCE THE qUESTION MARK.Published as part of Pollet, Marc & Ivković, Marija, 2018, Dolichopodidae of riverbeds and springs in Croatia with an updated checklist of Croatia (Diptera), pp. 401-428 in Zootaxa 4455 (3) on pages 406-409, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4455.3.1, http://zenodo.org/record/145735

Lygistorrhina (Probolaeus) barrettoi Lane, 1947 Lygistorrhina barrettoi Lane, 1947: 346. Lygistorrhina coxata Lane, 1947: 345, misidentification of Manota coxata (Enderlein, 1911). REMARK Lane (1947) described a female of Lygistorrhina, believing it to be a specimen of Aphanizophleps coxata Enderlein. However, the species described by Enderlein belongs to Manota. The name was treated as available by Papavero (1978), though it is a clear case of misidentification and was ignored subsequently (Oliveira & Amorim 2012). Examination of Lane’s specimens in MZUSP by the senior author revealed that they were identical to Lygistorrhina barrettoi Lane, 1947, except for being slightly darker.
