Simon Elliot Account Book, 1791-1796
An account book kept by Simon Elliot, Sr. and his son, Simon Elliot, Jr. for sales of snuff and tobacco from their store on 51 State Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The first page includes the details of the partnership between Simon Elliot, Sr. and his son. The major portion of the journal, pages 1-76, records sales of snuff and tobacco, and includes both individuals, such as a female customer, Joanna Winslow, and firms such as Andrew Ritchie & Son. The remaining section of the volume, pages 77-91, consists of cash settlements and personal accounts of the Elliots. The rest of the volume contains blank pages
