悪いポルノ、悪い哲学 : 分析フェミニスト哲学者によるポルノグラフィ批判
Full text linkインターネット・SNS の普及と主流化によって、性表現についての社会的な関心は大きい。フェミニストによるポルノ批判は1970年代から長い歴史をもっているが、2000 年代以降の英語圏では分析フェミニスト哲学やフェミニスト分析哲学と呼ばれる哲学的立場からの批判に対しても関心が高まっており、国内でも紹介し検討する必要がある。私見によれば、この手の「分析哲学」は、難解な上に経験的な論拠を欠いており、性表現のような実践的な関心に答えることがむずかしいもののように思われる。哲学者たちはむしろ社会学やメディア研究者メディア研究など経験的な研究に目を向け、議論の枠組みを見直すべきである。Feminist criticism of pornography has a long history dating back to the 1970s. In the English-speaking world since the 2000s, there has been a growing interest in criticism from a philosophical standpoint called “analytic feminist philosophy” or “feminist analytic philosophy”. It seems to me that this kind of "analytic philosophy" has serious flaws in their arguments and tends to ignore a series of empirical research. Philosophers should turn their eyes to such empirical studies, and rethink the framework of the pornography debate
「ノーはノー」から「イエスがイエス」へ : なぜ性的同意の哲学的分析が必要か
Full text link性暴力やセクシャルハラスメント（セクハラ）に対する意識が高まっているが、性的な「同意」の問題の哲学的・実践的な複雑さの問題は、国内では十分議論されていないように見える。本稿では、⑴レイプ神話とその解体、⑵恋愛指南本における性暴力の危険、⑶性暴力対策としての「Yes Means Yes」の動きを見たあとで、インフォームドコンセントという観点から見た場合のセックスにおける同意にまつわる難問がいかにして生じているのかを見てみたい。In this paper, I invite you to a philosophical analysis of "Sexual Consent". After briefly reviewing notorious "Rape Myths", I will show the world of so-called "Pick-Up Artists" in 2000's and the social concerns about their practice. Next I will introduce the "Affirmative Consent" movements of 2010’s. I introduce and try to analyze the importance of legacy of Antioch College's "Sexual Offense Prevention Policy"（ 1992） in reference to the standard "Informed Consent Model" in medical practices, and show how complicated and difficult the problem of "sexual consent" is
幸福論三国志に別れを告げよう
Full text link英語圏の倫理学においては、幸福の概念をめぐって快楽説、欲求実現説、客観リスト説という3つの立場が対立しているとされている。この状態を幸福論三国志と呼ぼう1）。本論は、そもそも「幸福」あるいは福利について、「本当の」幸福が存在するというより、それは我々による構成物であること、そしてそれは我々が動機や目的に応じて操作的に定義すべきものであるという立場を採用し、我々が幸福の概念を検討したくなる局面に注目すべきであると提案する。I will propose that we should regard the concept of well-being as a construct, not as an entity, and that we should operationalize “well-being” according to our motivation and purpose of philosophizing the concept

Full text link本論では、ミルの『自由論』における言論の自由の擁護の二つの解釈を扱う。一つは彼の自由の必要性の主張は、あくまで真理の追求と社会の進歩・改善という目標のためのものであるという解釈であり、もう一つは、社会改善のためであると同時に個人の幸福と個性の発展にも言論の自由は必要だ、というものである。本論は後者の解釈に賛同し、そこから、いわゆるヘイトスピーチの規制や「キャンセルカルチャー」と呼ばれる現代の言論の抑制の風潮を見直すべきであると結論する。 "This paper addresses two interpretations of the defense of freedom of speech in Mill's On Liberty. The first interpretation holds that his advocacy for freedom is primarily aimed at the pursuit of truth and the progress and improvement of society. The second interpretation argues that freedom of speech is necessary not only for social improvement but also for individual happiness and the development of personal character. This paper supports the latter interpretation and concludes that we should reconsider the current trends of restricting speech, such as the regulation of so-called hate speech and what is known as 'cancel culture.'

Full text link国内SNSで頻繁に話題になる「萌え絵」ポスター論争を理解するための準備作業として、まず哲学分野における「性的モノ化」と心理学分野における「セクシュアル化」という批判が萌え絵に適用できるかを考察する。「セクシュアル化」は問題の理解にあたって可能性のある概念である。As a preparatory work to understand the dispute about sexually suggestive public advertisement, I re-examine the concept of “sexual objectification” in the field of ethics and introduce the concept of “exualization” in the field of psychology. “Sexualization” of girls may be a more promising concept to analyze the issue, especially when it comes to anime illustrations and cartoons

Full text link「性的モノ化」は1970年代以降の第二派フェミニズムの中心的な概念の一つで、性犯罪、セクハラ、売買春、ポルノ1、美人コンテスト、性の商品化など、フェミニズムがとりあげた数多くの「女性」問題において、男性中心的な社会慣行（家父長制）における女性の隷属的地位を説明する概念としていまだに頻繁に用いられており、また哲学的な討議も続けられている(Papadaki, 2015)。この性的モノ化の問題は12年前の拙論「性的モノ化とセックスの倫理学」であつかった(江口, 2006, 本誌第９号)。前回この問題をとりあげたのは、「セックスの哲学」という、当時国内では関心の低かった応用哲学・倫理学の一分野の問題領域と興味深さを示すためであった。しかしその後この「モノ化」の問題はますます哲学者たちの関心をひくと同時に、性の商品化が盛んになっている現代社会で一般の興味をひくようになっているために、再度考察してみたい。Various forms of “sexual objectification” have long been criticized by feminist authors. This essay reconsiders the feminist conceptions of “sexual objectification” and argue that, (1) “objectification” is not always immoral, (2) not only men but also women may sometimes (and often) be objectifying members of the opposite sex, and (3) some forms of objectification, especially self-objectification, sometimes may be beneficial and even empowering. Feminist conceptions of “objectification” have to be reconsidered and reconstructed through empirical studies
ポピュラー音楽を大学初年次のメディアリテラシー教育に利用する
Full text link本稿では、大学初年次の少人数授業においてポピュラー音楽を用いたメディアリテラシー入門の試みを紹介する。現在主流のメディアリテラシー教育の考え方と、楽曲を「プライマリーテキスト」としたポピュラー音楽研究の成果をとりいれることにより、大学生にふさわしいメディアリテラシー修得に向けた動機が得られると主張したい。最後にメディアリテラシー教育の観点から望まれるポピュラー音楽研究の方向について触れる。In this paper, I propose a method to utilize pieces of popular music and their lyrics for college level media literacy education. After briefly surveying literature of Japanese popular music studies, I introduce the ideas and methods of the second level and college level media education and mainstream textbooks of ongoing popular music studies, in order to identify the points we should emphasize in interpreting popular music and its lyrics. Then I review some of my own class activities to show how collective interpretations of songs and lyrics in the classroom can be beneficial to improve students’ ability to understand media and musical art, and students' communication skills

This paper examines parts of three of his works—Either/Or, Stages on Life's Way, and Works of Love—to provide an overview of his views on romantic love and marriage in his writings
