Retraction: On the origin of power-law distributions in systems with constrained phase space [Condens. Matter Phys., 2013, vol. 16, 43802]
The article Condens. Matter Phys., 2013, vol. 16, 43802 ( DOI:10.5488/CMP.16.43802) has been retracted by the decision of the Editorial Board. There is a significant overlap with an article: Phys. Rev. E, 2006, vol. 74, 036120 ( DOI:10.1103/PhysRevE.74.036120). Appologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process
Editorial
Dear colleagues - our authors and readers,
At the turn of the year 2016 we would like to thank you all for your valuable contributions to our journal activities and we are happy to continue serving for the benefit of a broad scientific community. In these somewhat restless and uneasy times, we see our role not in merely technical assistance for publishing activities but also in sharing scientific knowledge from Ukrainian authors to a wider international audience, as well as in introducing the cutting edge research results to the native Ukrainian reader. We hope that these activities serve the purpose of strengthening the existing scientific links between the Ukrainian science and the rest of the world and help to establish new mutually beneficial links.
In this respect, we start our publishing year with two special issues. The issue No.1 is entitled "Phenomena at solid-fluid interfaces: Theory and computer simulations". It will be published in honour of Stefan Sokołowski who works prolifically in this field for more than 30 years, being an active member of our Editorial Board and a frequently contributing author. The issue No.2 is the Festschrift in honour of Anthony Haymet, renowned expert in theoretical Physical Chemistry, with a long-lasting collaboration and influence over several leading researchers of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics. Two other issues in 2016 will be of a regular type containing research papers in various fields within a scientific scope of our journal.
The 2014 ISI impact factor of our journal is 0.748.
Using the occasion, we wish you all a fruitful year 2016 with new scientific achievements and valuable results and, as always, invite you to contribute your research to our journal in the form of a regular article, review or brief communication. More details and updates are to be found on our webpage: http://www.icmp.lviv.ua/journal
Editorial
Dear colleagues and readers of our journal,
Last year there appeared one special issue of our journal, i.e., "Self-organization and collective behaviour in complex systems", alongside with three regular issues. This year we start with a special issue entitled "What is liquid?", in honour of Douglas Henderson, a member of our Editorial Board, dedicated to his 80th birthday. The collection of papers to appear in this issue is aimed at providing a critical review of the state of the art and of the open questions posed in the theory of liquids.
The 2013 ISI impact factor of Condensed Matter Physics is 0.771. In total, 246 citations were made in 2014 on the articles published in our journal according to the ISI Web of Science data. It is our pleasure to list herein three most cited papers in 2014, which are: A.V. Khomenko, N.V. Prodanov, Molecular dynamics simulations of ultrathin water film confined between flat diamond plates, Condens. Matter Phys., 2008, 11, 615; A. Honecker, S. Wessel, Magnetocaloric effect in quantum spin-s chains, Condens. Matter Phys., 2009, 12, 399; and D. Ivaneyko, V. Toshchevikov, M. Saphiannikova, G. Heinrich, Effects of particle distribution on mechanical properties of magneto-sensitive elastomers in a homogeneous magnetic field, Condens. Matter Phys., 2012, 15, 33601.
We also introduce changes into editorial processing of the papers and into the editorial structure in order to increase the level of published papers as well as to provide a more rapid service to the authors. In particular, the initial screening of the manuscripts concerning the correspondence for publication in Condensed Matter Physics will be completed by our associate and assistant editors. Please check our web page for the relevant changes in the requirements to the scientific quality of submitted manuscripts. The important statistics regarding the submission process and the related information will be monitored online starting from this year, see our web page for details.
We hope for our fruitful collaboration in the year 2015 and cordially invite you to submit your research to our journal in a form of a regular article, review or a brief communication

Properties of the CMP inverse and its computation
This manuscript aims to establish various representations for the CMP inverse. Some expressions for the CMP inverse of appropriate upper block triangular matrix are developed. Successive matrix squaring algorithm and the method based on the Gauss–Jordan elimination are considered for calculating the CMP inverse. As an application, the solvability of several restricted systems of linear equations (RSoLE) is investigated in terms of the CMP inverse. Illustrative examples and examples on randomly generated large-scale matrices are presented. © 2022, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Sociedade Brasileira de Matemática Aplicada e Computacional
