Designing a virtual reality programming environment for quantum computers
Quantum computation based on quantum physics is spreading rapidly with many interdisciplinary studies from machine learning to genetics. After the unveiling of real quantum computers, this process has been rising almost exponentially. We are about to experience an effect with quantum computers similar to the effect created by the process from the first electromechanical computers to very large-scale integrated circuit computers. In the programming of quantum computers, we are in a similar place to programming classical computers at an early stage. There are various models in quantum computing, and the most widely used model is quantum gates. Therefore, an easy and practical understanding of the behavior of the gates used in the programming of quantum computers is of great importance. To realize this process, a virtual reality (VR)-based teaching platform of quantum computer programming called QU-VR Education Tool was designed by using Unity 3D VR. In the creation of this design, IBM's so-called Quantum Composer platform and Microsoft Quantum Katas were taken as a reference. Modeling of Hybrid Wind-Gas Power Generation System and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Controller to Improve the System Performance
In this study, dynamic modeling of the hybrid wind-gas power generation system (HWGPGS) is realized by using the MATLAB/Simulink program for purpose of meeting the electric energy needs of small settlement units far from city centers or energy distribution networks. Besides, Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is used to ensure electrical output magnitudes of the hybrid power generation system at a desired operating performance. The components that build up the hybrid power generation system and its functions in the system are explained. In case the HWGPGS is loaded with different consumer loads, analysis of electrical magnitudes of the system is made through simulation results. As it can be seen from the results of simulation study realized for the hybrid power generation system, output electrical magnitudes of the ANFIS controlled system reach to desired operating values in a short time. Development of a driving cycle for Istanbul bus rapid transit based on real-world data using stratified sampling method
Environmental as well as financial issues forces to develop clean, efficient, and sustainable vehicles which constitutes an integral part of our daily life for urban transportation. Nevertheless, exhaust emissions of conventional internal combustion engine vehicles are the major source of global warming lead greenhouse effect. One solution for this issue is hybridization/electrification of the vehicles. One of the most important tools which can help to test performances of technical solutions systematically is driving cycles representing real driving conditions for vehicle emissions testing and estimation. When the history of the driving cycles was reviewed, it can be seen that there were big changes from constructing synthetically to real world cycles and from emission-focused cycles to emission, pollution and fuel consumption focused cycles. And now, a new application such as hybridization and/or electrification has been added to driving cycles. Main aim of this study is to create a practical driving cycle for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicles. To do this, characteristic driving parameters such as speed, distance, time, acceleration have been determined first. Data acquisition from conventional vehicles running on Istanbul route was performed and then data were analysed. A driving cycle was developed by using Proportional Stratified Sampling (PSS) technique. Comparison between constructed driving cycle and the real-world data show that difference is less than 10%. And so, it can be concluded that proposed driving cycle was acceptable
A modular and low-cost data acquisition card design with multitasking support
This paper describes a microcontroller-based, low-cost and multi-function data acquisition card design. A wide user audience for this product and a wide field of use are considered on the basis of containing many functions. Many kinds of projects in universities need data collection interfaces, which greatly increases the cost of project. Comparing with other data acquisition cards, this design comes to the flexibility to change the number of and the functions of ports which is the part of the designed data acquisition card. An internet-based real-time remote automatic control laboratory for control education
This paper describes a web based remote automatic control lab, RACL, system. This is a system that enables students do real time control experiments from a remote location (e.g. their homes) using internet and an ordinary web browser. By using this system one can select an experiment, launches that experiment, and examines real time experiment outputs by looking at charts. Trajectory tracking performance comparison between genetic algorithm and ant colony optimization for PID controller tuning on pressure process
The main goal of this study was to compare the performances of genetic algorithm (GA) and ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm for PID controller tuning on a pressure control process. GA and ACO were used for tuning of the PID controller when predefined trajectory reference signal was applied. Offline learning approach was employed in both GA and ACO algorithms. Realized pressure process dynamic has nonlinear behavior, thus system was modeled by nonlinear auto regressive and exogenous input (NARX) type artificial neural network (ANN) approach. PID controller was also tuned by ZieglerNichols (ZN) method to compare the results. A cost function was design to minimize the error along the defined cubic trajectory for the GA-PID and ACO-PID controller. Then PID controller parameters (Kp, Ki, Kd) were found by GA-PID, ACO-PID algorithms, which were adjusted with their optimal parameters. It was concluded that both ACO and GA algorithms could be used to tune the PID controllers in the pressure process with excellent performance. Controlling of grid connected photovoltaic lighting system with fuzzy logic
In this study, DC electrical energy produced by photovoltaic panels is converted to AC electrical energy and an indoor area is illuminated using this energy. System is controlled by fuzzy logic algorithm controller designed with 16 rules. Energy is supplied from accumulator which is charged by photovoltaic panels if its energy would be sufficient otherwise it is supplied from grid. During the 1-week usage period at the semester time, 1.968 kWh energy is used from grid but designed system used 0.542 kWh energy from photovoltaic panels at the experiments. Energy saving is determined by calculations and measurements for one education year period (9 months) 70.848 kWh. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

Bu çalışma en popüler kripto para birimi olan Bitcoin‟nin alım satımının nasıl yapıldığını, avantajlarını ve dezavantajlarının neler olduğunu, Türkiye‟ de artış gösteren işlem hacminin altında yatan nedenlerin yanında blok-zincir sistemi üzerinde durmayı amaçlamaktadır.
Çalışma sonucunda, Bitcoinin ortaya çıktığı andan günümüze çok mesafe kaydettiği, mevcut zaman zarfında güvenli sonucuna ulaşılsa da gelişimini devam ettiren bir ivme içerisinde olduğu henüz dünya genelinde tam anlamı ile ekonomi yönetimleri tarafından kabul edilmediği, gerçek paranın yerini alamadığı görülmekte olup yüz yüze değişimlerde gerçek paranın sağladığı pratik işlem kabiliyetini taşımadığı görülmüştür. Bitcoin‟in anonim yapısı hukuki statüsünün oluşturulmaması ve dünya genelinde tümüyle kabullenilmemiş olması takibinin zor olması gibi nedenlerden dolayı yasa dışı faaliyetlerde ve illegal yollarda kullanıldığı tahmin edilmektedir. Kadınlarda şiddete maruziyet ve savunma biçimlerinin depresyon üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesi
Bu araştırmada şiddete maruz kalan kadınların şiddet yaşantıları ve savunma biçimlerinin depresyon üzerindeki etkisi değerlendirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda Malatya’daki sivil toplum kuruluşlarına (STK) başvuran 105 kadından veri toplanmıştır. Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Beck Depresyon Envanteri (BDE) ve Savunma Biçimleri Testi (SBT) ölçme araçları olarak kullanılmıştır. Kadınların BDE puan ortalamalarının 20.3 olduğu görülmüştür. Şiddete ilk maruz kalma yaşı ile BDE puanları arasında negatif yönlü bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Olgun savunma biçimlerini yüksek düzeyde kullanan kadınların BDE puanlarının, düşük düzeyde kullanan kadınlarınkinden daha düşük olduğu; ilkel savunma biçimlerini yüksek düzeyde kullanan kadınların BDE puanlarının, düşük düzeyde kullanan kadınlarınkinden daha yüksek olduğu bulgulanmıştır. Yüksek düzeyde şiddete maruz kalıp düşük düzeyde nevrotik savunma kullananlar ile eşleri dışında kişilerden şiddet görüp yüksek düzeyde nevrotik savunma kullananlar BDE puanları bakımından daha riskli konumda oldukları bulgulanmıştır
Hasan Fehmi Tümerkan's life and works
İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti, Osmanlı Devleti'nin son zamanlarında ve Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nin ilk zamanlarında siyasi olarak oldukça etkili olmuştur. Bu cemiyetin sarıklı mebuslarından Hasan Fehmi Tümerkan Meclis-i Mebusan'da ve akabinde TBMM'de yapmış olduğu konuşmalarla, önerilerle ve kanun teklifleriyle ön plana çıkan mebuslardan biri idi. Kendisi, dönemin yenilikçi anlayışını benimseyerek reform taraflısı oldu. Hasan Fehmi Bey eğitimini bitirince İlahiyat Fakültesi'nde müderrislik yapmış ve Sinop Müftülüğü görevini icra etmiştir. İstanbul'un işgalinin ardından ise Malta'ya sürgün edilen isimler arasındadır. Esaret hayatı boyunca kendisini Kur'an'ı Türkçe'ye çevirme işine adamıştır. Böylelikle sadece bir siyasetçi değil; aynı zamanda dini ilimlere katkı sunan bir yazar da olmuştur. Şunu da belirtmek gerekir ki Sinop mebusu ve ardından Kastamonu milletvekili olarak görev yaptığı zamanlarda, kaleme aldığı eserleri ile ilmi ve fikri yönünü ortaya koymuştur.The Committee of Union and Progress (İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti) played a pivotal role in the political landscape during the final years of the Ottoman Empire and the early period of the Turkish Republic. Among its notable members was Hasan Fehmi Tümerkan, a turbaned deputy who distinguished himself through his speeches, legislative proposals, and policy suggestions in both the Ottoman Chamber of Deputies (Meclis-i Mebusan) and later in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Tümerkan embraced the progressive ideology of the era and was a staunch advocate of reform. Following his education, Hasan Fehmi served as a professor at the Faculty of Theology and later held the position of Mufti of Sinop. After the occupation of Istanbul, he was among those exiled to Malta. During his time in captivity, he dedicated himself to translating the Qur'an into Turkish. In doing so, he emerged not only as a politician but also as an author contributing to Islamic scholarship. It is also worth noting that during his tenure as a deputy representing Sinop and later Kastamonu, he demonstrated his intellectual and scholarly inclinations through the works he authored
