leads to a considerable advancement in solving humanity’s problems.
The most comprehensive example that can be given is the 2030 agenda of the
United Nations in which all the major problems facing our planet are posed.
The greatest demonstration of the effectiveness of the philosophy of knowledge
consists precisely in showing how critical thinking, recovering a tradition
that goes all the way back to Aristotle and the pre-Socratic thinkers, can
restore dignity to the person and solve economic, financial, bioanthropological
and socio-cultural problems. In addition, knowledge presents itself as the
best way of realising the human person in compliance with the Aristotelian
precept that knowledge represents the highest function that the individual
can achieve as well as the realisation of his belonging to the human species

No full textIl concetto di dignità dell’essere naturale, proprio in quanto connesso alla sua dimensione metafisica, trova delle importanti anticipazioni in una linea di pensiero di fondamentale importanza legata alla dottrina di Giovanni Duns Scoto che si svolge tra il xv e il xvi secolo.
La prospettiva di ecologia integrale, per cui l’umano viene investito totalmente di responsabilità nei confronti dell’ ecosistema, passa necessariamente per la considerazione della natura come una realtà non a servizio dell’uomo ma dotata di una dignità ontologica pari a quella dell’essere umano.
Ciò comporta il dovere, da parte di ogni persona, all’assoluto rispetto della possibilità per l’ambiente prima di tutto di esistere e poi di manifestarsi nella sua complessità

No full textAgostino Nifo is one of the few thinkers who commented on all of Aristotle’s logical works and one of the philosophers who reinterpreted the greatest number of the Stagirite’s texts. He left an important legacy of his speculation in Renaissance thought as a relevant exponent of Aristotelianism, which he eclectically interpreted according to the principles of Averroism, Thomism, Sigerianism and Neoplatonism. In his 56 works, he made an important contribution to 16th-century philosophy in the fields of logic, methodology, the doctrine of knowledge, the theory of the immortality of the soul, metaphysics, astrology, meteorology, natural philosophy, medicine and also the philosophy of the court, morality and politics, debating with some of the greatest thinkers of his time such as Pietro Pomponazzi, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola and Niccolò Machiavelli
