The oval portrait is mounted on a beige mount. This photograph was taken in 1901 and is of E.M. Edwards when he was a young man attending Sam Houston Normal Institute. The beige mount has "E.M. Edwards - 1901" handwritten underneath the portrait in black ink. Below this, handwritten in black ink is "The views were taken by him while a student in S.H.N.I 1899 and 1904."
On the top left of the mount is a black and white rectangular portrait of E.M. Edwards in 1932. The photograph is attached to the mount. To the right of the portrait, handwritten in black ink is "E.D. Edwards - 1932.

The 2nd rectangular photograph is displayed on the back of the mount but is not attached. It is loose within the archival sleeve
