No full textSono passati oltre vent'anni dalla scomparsa dello scrittore Sergio Atzeni (1952-1995), ma la sua opera, radicata profondamente nella tradizione sarda e insieme aperta all'innovazione e al dialogo con la cultura contemporanea internazionale, continua ad avere una fortissima presenza in Sardegna e a suscitare un ampio interesse in Italia e all'estero. Questo volume, composto di quindici capitoli firmati da scrittori e da studiosi attivi in università italiane e straniere, indaga molti aspetti della scrittura di Atzeni: le relazioni con la letteratura e la politica sarda, con la tradizione letteraria italiana e con fenomeni culturali internazionali; il ricorso alle tecniche allegoriche e la riflessione sui rapporti fra storia e narrativa; i dialoghi con la musica e con il cinema; i caratteri tematici, strutturali e stilistici delle sue opere

Self piercing riveting for metal-polymer joints
No full textSelf-Piercing Riveting (SPR) is a sheet metal joining technique based on the insertion of a rivet into two or more sheets, with no preparatory hole. This process has gained wide diffusion in the automotive industry, due to the increasing use of materials alternative to steel, that are difficult or impossible to join with traditional techniques. In particular, polymeric materials are becoming increasingly used, due to their favorable weight/strength ratio. This paper reports the results of experimental investigations, aimed at identifying the variables affecting the mechanical characteristics of mixed metal-plastic joints. A statistic model for the optimization of the geometrical parameters has been computed. The paper demonstrates that self-piercing riveting appears competitive for metal/polymer junction. The results analyzed in light of statistical techniques show that some geometrical parameters affect joint performance more than others and can therefore be used as independent variables for joint performance optimizatio

No full textIt is shown that the scheme suggested by R.L. Liboff [Phys. Lett. A 334 (2005) 42] cannot lead to significant energy production by fusion reactions. A modest energy release (less than 1% of the value claimed by Liboff) is obtained from the reaction n + Li-6 -> T + He-4 + 4.78 MeV, while fusion reactions only occur at negligible rate.
