In 1989 a salvage excavation campaign revealed varions periods in the occupation of the Pont Julien site. During the eleventh century a small burial ground occupies the location of an ancient gallo-roman post. A hamlet would develop there sometime late (llth-12th century). Then during the whole of the 13th century, potiers set up their workshop under the same hamlet extending it to a part of the cemetery. This discovery noticeably enriched our knowledge about mediaval pottery in the Provence. The only oven unearthed during the excavation, out of the four revealed by geophysical prospections, has provided an abundant documentation on ceramics from which it was possible to draw up a first typology. Besides the «pegaus» and specially the cooking-pots with two handles, representing the majority, coexisted varions shapes of grey ceramic more or less known up to now. Bonhoure Isabelle, Marchesi Henri, Ducomet Georges. Continuous recording of resistivity with towed arrays for systematic mapping of buried structures at shallow depths
Since the first experiments of resistivity measurements for archaeological survey, technology has shown a considerable evolution. Electrodes moved by hand have been exchanged for towed arrays with continuous contact with the ground and automatic recording of data. The last improvements consist in the use of electrostatic quadripoles which no more need any electrical contact with the ground. The paper recalls the contribution of the Centre de Recherches Géophysiques at Garchy in this evolution during the last thirty years. Dabas Michel, Decriaud Jean-Paul, Ducomet Georges, Hesse A., Mounir Abdo Ahmed, Tabbagh Alain. About this researcher blog on Georges Focus
Georges Focus, who died in 1708, was a French painter who became crazy at the end of his life. He is the author of a bit more than 130 drawings, accompanied by poems, of great technical quality, made while suffering from psychological disorders. These bizarre works are also marked by great erudition and many precise allusions to contemporary personalities and events. They are a source of micro-history for research on 17th century French society, literature and fine arts. Public domain, htt..

The StGeorges boarding school as a link between East and West.
The StGeorges boarding school founded in 1921 in Constantinople by Jesuits in order to offer a shelter for young Russian immigrants, was moved to Namur, then Paris and finally Meudon before closing down in 1970. The author of the article, a former resident at Meudon, starts by evoking his personal memories, then he broadens the scope of his article by setting up the Jesuits’ action within the framework of an attempt at bringing together and allowing mutual recognition between Orthodox East and Catholic West that were separated since 1504.Martinowsky Georges.
