Eco-Friendly Preparation, Characterization and Application of Nano Tech Pigmented Inkjet Inks and Comparison of Particle Size Effect and Printing Processes
By acknowledging the importance of Nano tech inkjet inks, the “top down” method of nanotechnology was followed for manufacturing the Nano tech inkjet inks of pigment Yellow 14 powder 100 % dried and pigment Blue 15.1 (100 % dried powder) and then characterized for their particle size, zeta potential, purity, viscosity, surface tension, foam, pH, engineering stability, shear thinning, by using different spectroscopic, microscopic and particle size analyzing techniques. Both of the inks were applied on 100 % singed, desized, scoured, bleached and pretreated cotton weight 134.4g/m2 through Monna Lisa Evo TRE printer EPSON (Model No EVO TRE 16). The printed samples were dried and cured 150 °C for 5 minutes. The samples were evaluated for their color fastness to light, rubbing, washing, laundering, and K/S value, by using relevant AATCC and ISO’s methods. Same powders were emulsified and applied on same cotton through traditional rotary screen printing method, dried, cured at 150 °C for 5 minutes and evaluated for their fastness properties for comparative study. It was concluded that by promoting the use of green chemistry and nanotechnology, the resulted benefits include better print, increased light fastness and color gamut, reduced chemical, energy and water consumption along with environmental friendly effectiveness
Enhancing Signature Verification Using Triplet Siamese Similarity Networks in Digital Documents
In contexts requiring user authentication, such as financial, legal, and administrative systems, signature verification emerges as a pivotal biometric method. Specifically, handwritten signature verification stands out prominently for document authentication. Despite the effectiveness of triplet loss similarity networks in extracting and comparing signatures with forged samples, conventional deep learning models often inadequately capture individual writing styles, resulting in suboptimal performance. Addressing this limitation, our study employs a triplet loss Siamese similarity network for offline signature verification, irrespective of the author. Through experimentation on five publicly available signature datasets—4NSigComp2012, SigComp2011, 4NSigComp2010, and BHsig260—various distance measure techniques alongside the triplet Siamese Similarity Network (tSSN) were evaluated. Our findings underscore the superiority of the tSSN approach, particularly when coupled with the Manhattan distance measure, in achieving enhanced verification accuracy, thereby demonstrating its efficacy in scenarios characterized by close signature similarity
Strategic Stability in South Asia: Pakistan and the Challenges of Nuclear Deterrence
The protracted conflict between the US and the former USSR demonstrated that deterrence stability is improved by détente. South Asia‟s environment is characterized by mutual hostility; conventional military balance tilting in favor of India; and lack of a transparent and nonaggressive nuclear doctrine. The aforementioned factors are the missing components of détente. Both the provocative Indian expansion in its nuclear weapons programme, and Pakistani retaliatory notion of the short-range weapons option, is problematic not only in the South Asian context, but also contradictory to the decades-long experience acquired during the Cold War. Pakistan and India must move towards nuclear CBMs, doctrinal clarity, and risk-reduction measures in the light of new technological advancements, and changing US role in the region
