Some Properties of lp(A,X) Spaces
We provide a representation of elements of the space lp(A,X) for a locally convex space X and 1≤p<∞ and determine
its continuous dual for normed space X and 1<p<∞. In particular, we study the extension and characterization of isometries on lp(N,X) space, when X is a normed space with an unconditional basis and with a
symmetric norm. In addition, we give a simple proof of the main result

LP Decoding Excess over Symmetric Channels
We consider the problem of Linear Programming (LP) decoding of binary linear codes. The LP excess lemma was introduced by the first author, B. Ghazi, and R. Urbanke (IEEE Trans. Inf. Th., 2014) as a technique to trade crossover probability for 'LP excess' over the Binary Symmetric Channel. We generalize the LP excess lemma to discrete, binary-input, Memoryless, Symmetric and LLR-Bounded (MSB) channels. As an application, we extend a result by the first author and H. Audah (IEEE Trans. Inf. Th., 2015) on the impact of redundant checks on LP decoding to discrete MSB channels. © 2015 IEEE
A Sobolev estimate for radial lp-multipliers on a class of semi-simple lie groups
Let G be a semi-simple Lie group in the Harish-Chandra class with maximal compact subgroup K. Let ΩK be minus the radial Casimir operator. Let 1 4 dim(G/K) < SG < 1 2 dim(G/K), s ∈ (0, SG] and p ∈ (1,∞) be such that(1 p - 1 2 )< s 2SG . Then, there exists a constant CG,s,p > 0 such that for every m ∈ L∞(G) ∩ L2(G) bi-K-invariant with m ∈ Dom(Ωs K) and Ωs K(m) ∈ L2SG/s(G) we have, (0.1) ∥Tm : Lp(G) → Lp( G)∥ ≤ CG,s,p∥Ωs K(m)∥ L2SG/s(G), where Tm is the Fourier multiplier with symbol m acting on the noncommutative Lp-space of the group von Neumann algebra of G. This gives new examples of Lp-Fourier multipliers with decay rates becoming slower when p approximates 2.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Analysi
Stability properties of stochastic maximal Lp-regularity
In this paper we consider Lp-regularity estimates for solutions to stochastic evolution equations, which is called stochastic maximal Lp-regularity. Our aim is to find a theory which is analogously to Dore’s theory for deterministic evolution equations. He has shown that maximal Lp-regularity is independent of the length of the time interval, implies analyticity and exponential stability of the semigroup, is stable under perturbation and many more properties. We show that the stochastic versions of these results hold
Lp–Lq estimates for dispersive equations and related applications
AbstractThis paper is mainly concerned with the Lp–Lq estimates of solutions for a class of general dispersive equations under the condition (Hb) with an index b∈(0,1]. To the end, the new pointwise decay estimates of oscillatory integrals related to the fundamental solutions are proved. If b=1, then the pointwise estimates are particularly consistent with the sharp results of the nondegenerate cases. Moreover, as an application of the Lp–Lq estimates, we also show that higher-order differential operator iP(D)+V(x,D) generates a fractionally integrated group on some Lp(Rn), from which certain Lp-estimates for the solutions of generalized Schrödinger equations are obtained
Lp approximation by multivariate Baskakov–Kantorovich operators
AbstractThe concern of this paper is to introduce and study multivariate Baskakov–Kantorovich operators, which are non-tensor product generalization of the one variable. We establish a strong direct theorem of Lp approximation by using a decomposition technique
PROPAGATION OF LP//0//1 AND LP//1//1 MODES IN COUPLED OPTICAL FIBERS.
The author studied the propagation of the fundamental mode, called the LP//0//1 mode, of a single-mode optical fiber and the LP//1//1 mode, the next higher-order mode, in two long lengths of fiber coupled together. This was done by launching light having a wavelength below the cut-off wavelength of the fiber. The effect of lateral misalignment at the coupled junctions was investigated. The results are explained in terms of excitation of the modes at this junction
Lp boundedness for Littlewood–Paley operators with rough variable kernels
AbstractIn this paper the authors give the Lp(Rn) boundedness of Littlewood–Paley operators with rough variable kernels, which is a substantial improvement and extension of some known results
The effects of an eight week cardiac rehabilitation exercise program on Lp(a) concentration in patients with coronary artery disease
Elevated lipoprotein (a) concentration (Lp(a)) (30 mg/dl particle mass) is an independent risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD). It has been suggested that intense exercise lowers plasma (Lp(a)) in healthy individuals. To study the efficacy of moderate intensity exercise in lowering (Lp(a)), 11 men (M age = 60) and 5 women (M age = 70) with angiographically documented CAD participated in an 8-week Phase II cardiac rehabilitation program (30 minutes of treadmill, bicycle, wall-pulley, rowing machine or arm ergometer) three times a week. Subjects began at an intensity of 2.5 0.5 METS and attended a minimum of 75% of all exercise sessions (M = 88%). A subgroup of 4 men and 1 woman with angiographically documented CAD who refused the exercise program but underwent identical testing was compared. Plasma (Lp(a)) was determined by immunoprecipitation analysis at the beginning and end of the 8-week exercise period. Subjects kept 3-day diet and physical activity diaries and had body composition measurements (weight, percent body fat and waist to hip ratio (WHR)) taken at the beginning and end of the 8-week testing period. Although subjects with higher initial plasma (Lp(a)) showed greater decreases in (Lp(a)), a t-test revealed no change (p = 0.26) in plasma (Lp(a)) in the exercising subjects over the 8-week period. Absolute changes in plasma (Lp(a)) did not correlate with absolute changes in weight or percent body fat. Women had significantly higher (p 0.05) pretest plasma (Lp(a)) than men although changes in plasma (Lp(a)) were not different between sexes. The results suggest that an 8-week exercise program of moderate intensity does not assure favorable changes in plasma (Lp(a)).Made available in DSpace on 2011-05-07T12:17:50Z (GMT). Inverse theorems for multidimensional Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators in Lp
AbstractIn this paper, we consider the multidimensional Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators in Lp (1⩽ p < ∞) on a simplex. We characterize the rate of approximation by means of K-functionals and the smoothness of the functions they approximate
