Stabilization of a class of switched nonlinear systems
Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author)The stabilization of a class of single input switched nonlinear systems is investigated in the paper. The system concerned is of switched triangular structure, which has all switched models in triangular form. The stabilization of the switched system under arbitrary switching law is investigated. The nonlinear state feedback is explicitly designed. We exploit the structural characteristics of the switched nonlinear systems to construct a common Lyapunov function for arbitrary switching

An introductory review of time-inconsistent stochastic optimal control
Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author) -- Conference full title: 37th Chinese Control Conference, CCC 2018; Wuhan; China; 25 July 2018 through 27 July 2018.This paper gives an introductory review of time-inconsistent stochastic optimal control. We mainly explain the reasons that result in the time inconsistency, and review the recent progresses in time-inconsistent stochastic linear-quadratic optimal control
Synchronized dancing of an industrial manipulator and humans with arbitrary music
Tükel, Dilek Bilgin (Dogus Author) -- Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author)An extended Labanotation for an industrial robot was developed and applied. A user-friendly program was designed to help design dance choreography. The program, LabanRobot, has a simple interface that can be used without any prior knowledge of the robot. The choreographer should keep geometry in mind and plan the dance sequence accordingly. The conversion of dance sequences to robot motion is done automatically by the program. Details of the algorithm are given. Examples of simulation and on-stage-performance are shown
Complexity versus integrity solution in adaptive fuzzy-neural inference models
Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author)This paper explores aspects of computational complexity versus rule reduction and of integrity preservation versus optimality index, which have become an issue of considerable concern in learning techniques for adaptive fuzzy inference models. In control-oriented applications of adaptive fuzzy inference systems, implemented as fuzzy-neural networks, a balanced observation of these conflicting requirements appeared rather important for a good yet feasible application design. The focus is confined to a family of adaptive fuzzy inference systems that can be interpreted as a partially connected multilayer feedforward neural networks employing Gaussian activation function. The knowledge base rules are designed implying the connections are a priori fixed, and then the respective strengths adapted on the grounds of input and output data sets. Information granulation plays a significant role too. These as well as membership-function parameters ought to be adapted in a learning-training process via the minimization of an appropriate error function
H U+221E tracking control for switched LPV systems with an application to aero-engines
Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author)This paper focuses on the H U+221E model reference tracking control for a switched linear parameter-varying U+0028 LPV U+0029 model representing an aero-engine. The switched LPV aero-engine model is built based on a family of linearized models. Multiple parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions technique is used to design a tracking control law for the desirable H U+221E tracking performance. A control synthesis condition is formulated in terms of the solvability of a matrix optimization problem. Simulation result on the aero-engine model shows the feasibility and validity of the switching tracking control scheme
Delay-dependent stability for neural networks with time-varying delays via a novel partitioning method
Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author)In this brief, a novel partitioning method for the conditions on bounding the activation function in the stability analysis of neural networks systems with time-varying delays is presented. Certain further improved delay-dependent stability conditions, which are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), are derived by employing a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) and utilizing the Wirtinger integral inequality. Two well-known examples are investigated in a comparison mode with results to show the effectiveness and improvements achieved by the new results proposed
On uncontrollable non-linear dynamic systems: Analytic solutions for integral manifolds
Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author) : Conference full title: 1st International Conference Physics and Control, PhysCon 2003; Saint Petersburg; Russian Federation; 20 August 2003 through 22 August 2003.In this paper three solutions for invariant submanifolds of nonlinear control systems are presented. The first and the second are based on functional expansion, which can be obtained by differentiation of functions only. The third one presents a singular solution and is based on linear-algebraic operations and finite differentiation of functions only. Examples for all derived results are presented
Multimedia transfer over the internet: A control based improvement of AIMD algorithm
Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author) -- Conference full title: 2nd International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies: From Theory to Applications, ICTTA 2006; Damascus; Syrian Arab Republic; 24 April 2006 through 28 April 2006.The known Additive Increase Multiplicative Decrease algorithm has been further investigated and a novel, improved TCP-friendly flow control algorithm derived. This algorithm provides basic flow congestion control for multimedia data traffic over Internet, and also fulfils the fairness between RTP flows and TCP flows while retaining essential characteristics of this algorithm. Important parameters that are involved in network's communication process have been thoroughly studied and properly introduced into the novel algorithm. Innovation work done to this known algorithm helps smoothing the multimedia transfer and guarantees the fairness among TCP flows and RTP flows
New results on stochastic stability of discrete-time Unscented Kalman Filter
Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author) -- Conference full text: Proceedings of the 2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA): 18-20 July 2012, Singapore.Performance of the Unscented Kalman Filter, UKF, for nonlinear stochastic discrete-time systems is investigated. It is proved that under certain conditions, the estimation error of the UKF remains bounded. Furthermore, it is shown that the design of noise covariance matrix plays an important role in improving the stability of the UKF algorithm. It is further shown the estimation error remains bounded the nonlinear observability rank condition is satisfied. These results are verified by numerical simulations for a relevant illustrative example.Doğuş Üniversitesi, Ministry for Education & Science of R. Macedoni
