    Characterization and bio-chemical synthesis of Gd3+rare metal Complex with benzoxazole derivative

    Abstract: The grouping of some rare metal ions with an significant 2-(1,3-benzoxazole -2-yl - sulfanyl )-N-phenyl acetamide (BSPA) ligand to form coordination compounds is an important area of present research. Less explored biologically important 2-(1,3-benzoxazole -2-yl - sulfanyl )-N-phenyl acetamide ligand is allowed to react with solution of some rare metal perchlorates and attempt has been made to synthesize solid 2-(1,3-benzoxazole -2-yl- sulfanyl )-N-phenyl acetamide complexes. These 2-(1,3-benzoxazole-2-yl-sulfanyl )-N-phenyl acetamide complex are subjected to U.V Visible Spectroscopy, IR Spectroscopy, TGA Analysis, elemental analysis of these complex has been evaluated by standard methods and attempts have been made to correlate structural characteristics with properties of these 2-(1,3-benzoxazole -2-yl - sulfanyl )-N-phenyl acetamide complex.     Techno-morphology as a strategy for design

    Techno-morphology explores the form / structure relationship, interested in resistance by form rather than matter. This paradigm is known as Lightweight Structures when it is done on an architectural scale and has been installed in general culture as a new genre over the last 50 years. Far from being mechanistic or high-tech, this approach is based on nature's own structures as a design strategy, celebrating its functionality, efficiency and beauty. The Thesis examines the essence of this paradigm for greater understanding and to open it up to new possibilities, moving away from formal and generic trends. There are four factors that influence the design of every human product at any scale and dimension; form (understood as different morphological possibilities), matter (inputs, ingredients), technology (processes for transformation of materials) and structure (the organization of the form so that it is functional). The particular relationship between these four variables defines the identity and success of design. This thesis includes four case studies (Tensegrity, Catenary, Fluid Origami, Woven) proposed by the author, each one forms an Atlas that includes applied examples, glossary, typological maps and new proposals to explore.Fil: Reissig, Pedro. Este paradigma proyectual es conocido como Estructuras Livianas cuando se realiza a escala arquitectónica y se ha instalado en la cultura general como un nuevo género en los últimos 50 años. Lejos de ser mecanicista o high-tech, este enfoque se funda en las estructuras propias de la naturaleza como estrategia de diseño, celebrando su funcionalidad, eficacia y belleza. La Tesis examina la esencia de este paradigma para su mayor comprensión y para abrirlo a nuevas posibilidades, alejado de tendencias formales y genéricas.     Breast Microcalcification: Diagnostic Value of Calcified and Non-calcified Cores on Specimen Radiographs

    To determine if the specimen without calcification, as depicted on specimen radiography, made any contribution to the final histopathological diagnosis in comparison to the specimen with calcification. The records of 1312 stereotactic vacuum-assisted biopsies for breast microcalcifications between February 2000 and December 2010 were reviewed retrospectively. Following specimen x-ray the biopsy tissues with and without microcalcifications were sent in two separate pots (pot 1 and pot 2 respectively). The number of cores in each pot and the number of calcium specks within the cores were recorded. In 1135 of the 1312 (86%) cases the histopathological findings were similar for pot 1 and pot 2. In 165 cases (13%) the diagnosis was made solely on pot 1 while cores in pot 2 did not reveal any additional pathology. In 12 biopsies (1%) the significant pathology was only present in the specimen without any calcification. For microcalcification only breast lesions the specimen containing calcium will yield a correct diagnosis in 99% of cases. Cores containing no calcification rarely contribute to the diagnosis on their own, but in 87% of cases an accurate diagnosis would still have been made even if the targeted calcification had been missed

    We enjoyed reading comments made by Pablo Martínez‐Camblor on our recently published paper “Notes on Overlap Measure as an Alternative to Youden Index: How are they related?” We think that the author has misinterpreted the title and the main focus of our paper. The main focus of this paper is on the relation and comparison of the overlap measure (OVL) to the Youden index. We must say the author missed the most important point in the title and in the entire paper that we focused on “How are they related.” In addition, we understand that OVL is not a new measure; however, in our paper, we proved its link to Youden index, which is new. Therefore, we did not include all literatures but only a few most relevant papers regarding the OVL and its application in medical diagnostics. Again, the focus of our paper is on the relation between OVL and Youden index but not proposing OVL as a new measure
