No full textThe Production System and the Changes in the Economie Environment - Economic policies do not have the same impact on all sectors. The PROPAGE model makes it possible to simulate the impact, on a sector by sector basis, of five macro-economic variables (devaluation of the franc, an increase in the minimum wage (SMIC), the elimination of the ceiling of employers' social contributions, and a reduction in work time, with or without a corresponding reduction in pay) on the formation of prices, the level of production, and employment. In its presentation of the differing reactions of sectors to these changes in their economic environment, this article shows the heterogeneousness of sectors within the French production system.La politique économique ne touche pas les branches de la même manière. Le modèle PROPAGE permet de simuler l'incidence, branche par branche, de cinq variantes macroéconomiques (dévaluation du franc, hausse du SMIC, déplafonnement des cotisations sociales employeurs, réduction de la durée du travail avec ou sans compensation salariale) sur la formation des prix, le niveau de la production et l'emploi. En présentant les différences de réactions des branches à ces modifications de leur environnement économique, cet article illustre l'hétérogénéité sectorielle de l'appareil productif français.El aparato productivo y las modificaciones del medio ambiente éconómico - La política económica no atane ne identica forma todas las ramas. El modelo PROPAGE permite simular la incidencia, rama por rama, de cinco variantes macroeconómicas (devaluación del franco, incremento del SMIC, modificación de las cuotas sociales de los empleadores, aminoracion de las horas de trabajo con o sin compensacion asalarial) sobre fijación de los precios, nivel de producción y empleo. Die Daten der Oecd, die herkömmlicherweise für internationale Vergleiche benutzt werden, weisen auf einen betrâchtlichen Abstand zwischen den Sätzen der gesetzlichen Sozialabzüge in Frankreich und in der BRD, der grossenteils auf die jeweilige Höhe der Sozialversicherungsbeiträge zurückzuführen ist. Es wäre sicherlich übereilt daraus zu schliessen, dass die Kosten für die Sozialversicherung hierzulande höher zu veranschlagen wären als in der BRD : werden die mstitutionellen Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Ländern (besonders hinsichtlich der haushaltsmässigen Finanzierung gewisser Leistungen und der Bedeutung der Privatversicherung) berücksichtigt, so sind die für die Sozialversicherung bestimmten Fmanzmittel in Frankreich und in der BRD letzten Endes ungefähr gleich.Comparison between the Level of French and German (FRG) Mandatory Social Contributions and Social Costs,

Oecd data, customarily used for international comparisons, reveal a significant gap between the rates of taxes and social security contributions in France and in Germany, basically due to the burden of social contributions in France. However, it would be premature to conclude that the cost of social protection is greater in France than it is on the other bank of the Rhine: once the institutional difference between the two countries (primarily regarding the budgetary financing of certain benefits and the prominence of private insurance), the financial ressources allocated to social protection are virtually the same in France as in the FRG.Comparaison du niveau des prélèvements sociaux obligatoires et des dépenses sociales en France et en Rfa,

Les données de l'Ocdé, traditionnellement utilisées pour les comparaisons internationales, font état d'un écart important entre les taux de prélèvements obligatoires de la France et de la Rfa, cet écart provenant en grande partie du poids des cotisations sociales. Mais, il serait trop hâtif d'en déduire que le coût de la protection sociale soit chez nous sensiblement plus élevé qu'outre-Rhin : après prise en compte des différences institutionnelles entre l'un et l'autre pays (notamment le financement budgétaire de certaines prestations et l'importance de l'assurance privée), les masses financières affectées à la protection sociale sont finalement à peu près équivalentes en France et en Rfa.Comparación del nivel de las cotizaciones sociales obligatorias y los gastos sociales en Francia y en Rfa,

Los datos de la Ocde utilizados tradicionalmente para las comparaciones internacionales muestran una gran diferencia entre las tasas de exacciones fiscales y cotizaciones sociales en Francia y en Rfa. La diferencia proviene en gran parte de la carga de las cotizaciones sociales. Sin embargo, sería de masiado prematuro deducir de ello que el coste de la protección social es en nuestro país mucho más elevado que allende el Rin. En efecto, tras tomar en cuenta las diferencias institucionales entre ambos países (en particular la financiación presupuestaria de ciertas prestaciones y la importancia del seguro privado), las masas financieras asignadas a la protección social finalmente resultan ser más o menos équivalentes en Francia y en Rfa.Demotes-Mainard Magali. Get PDFThe fifty years which transformed french agriculture - In 1950, one-third of French employed persons worked in agriculture, only one among 22 nowadays, and farmers are less numerous than manufacturing industry workers in rural areas. Agricultural holdings remain family units, but their average area has become more than three times larger in fifty years. Over the same period, productivity gains, mainly due to the development of machinery, have been considerable. Agricultural output is more than twice higher, allowing France to become net exporter of agricultural products. This performance improvement leads to an upward trend in the purchasing power of gross individual income despite the sharp decrease of real output prices

Luego de diez años de crisis seguidos de un período de convalescencia, la industria manufacturera presenta al fin de la década de los ochenta un perfil modernizado y un nuevo dinamismo. Sin embargo, este sector industrial perdió más de un millón de empleos y no supo mantenerse en buena posición frente a la reactivación del crecimiento mundial: la aparición de un deficit exterior de los bienes manufacturados a partir de 1987 es tanto más inquietante cuanto que el mismo proviene de una baja de los resultados de la exportación, en mercados que prometen. [eng] Twenty Years of Industrial Growth - In twenty years, the French manufacturing industry went through profound changes: two oil crises followed by a drop in the price of oil were added to strong trends toward structural modifications. In the late eighties, after ten years of crisis followed by a period of convalescence, the manufacturing industry presented a modernized profile and a new dynamism. To do so, it lost more than a million jobs and was not able to keep up with the recovery of world growth: the appearence of a trade deficit for manufactured goods starting in 1987 is all the more worrying as it was caused by a setback in export performance in leading markets. [fre] En vingt ans, l'industrie manufacturière française a connu de profonds changements : deux chocs pétroliers suivis d'un contre-choc sont venus se greffer sur des tendances lourdes de modifications de structure. Après dix années de crise suivies d'une période de convalescence, elle présente à la fin des années quatre-vingt un profil modernisé et un nouveau dynamisme.
