"L'introduction de la litterature taïwanaise en Italie: defis et possibilites au prisme d'une lecture sociologique de ses traductions"

This paper addresses the introduction of Taiwan Literature in Italy, considered through the lens of translation. It presents an analysis of the major approaches to the translation of Taiwan literature since the publication of the first works in Italian in 1997, attempting a sociological approach, which should emphasize the work of translators and the real context in which the translations were realized. As a matter of fact, translation can be an instrument to observe the movements of Taiwanese literature in a global context, especially if considered in its social dimension. Indeed, translation has been defined as a “social practice” (Wolf 2014), and the social dimension of the translating process is clear in the number of agents it involves, who are not just an author, a translator, and a reader, but also institutional and non-institutional agents both from the exporting and the importing country, and even non-human actors. Broadening the scope of translation beyond the linguistic and textual level, encompassing the social level, will show the steps the literature of the island has taken to enter Italy and the strategies employed by various agents. This will lead to general considerations on the dynamics involved in translation, a situation in which different capitals are at play

«VII: foetorem in lecto». A Reading of I donneschi difetti by Giuseppe Passi Ravennate This article analyses the treatise I donneschi difetti, written by the scholar Giuseppe Passi in 1599. The first part of the article presents the architecture of the treatise and the author’s way ofarguing. The second introduces a few examples of female defects related to the sexual sphere and tries to demonstrate how, under the stigmatization of these defects, the author cannot hide his attraction and fear for women. The last part tries to explain the reason for this work, which could be interpreted as a stance by the author himself against the new phenomenon which was taking place at the time in Italian culture: that is, the figure of the female writer

Language is one of the most important means by which people exchange opinions and ideas and show their daily feelings and needs in life. More than four hundred and sixty-seven million people speak the Arabic language around the world and Islam is based on this language. Learning Arabic takes an essential place among Muslims because of the Holy Quran and Hadith as a crucial source of Islamic legislation. Each profession has a unique method or methods to achieve its success. The teaching profession is valuable work with an important responsibility. The teacher of the Arabic language needs to be interested in an independent way to achieve the educational, psychological objectives by teaching and learning process. This study describes the contribution of Passy Alim and his teaching methodology because it seems that he followed to train children to read the Holy Quran with a valuable way in his book “Thadreesul Quran”. This research targets to identify Sheikh Passy Alim, and his contributions to the Arabic language, show the advantages of the book Thadreesul Quran with the introduction and description of the methodology of Sheikh Passi Alim through his book for teaching the Holy Quran which he followed in his writing. To achieve these objectives, the researcher uses the descriptive and analytical approach to reach the desired results. One of the most important conclusions reached by the researcher during this study is that Sheikh Passi Alim is a famous writer who has written many books in the Arabic language in the field of teaching, especially his book Thadreesul Quran where he followed a sound methodology, concerns individual differences and follows an easy way to read the Holy Quran by all children. It also recommends the importance of reviving Arabic teaching in the Sri Lankan society and introducing it into the educational curriculum in schools and universities in order to develop the teaching skills of this language and make active generations in the field of teaching

On the Passi and the Mal'cev functors

43 pages. Comments welcomeThe author has shown that the category of analytic contravariant functors on gr\mathbf{gr}, the category of finitely-generated free groups, is equivalent to the category of left modules over the PROP associated to the Lie operad, working over Q\mathbb{Q}. This exploited properties of the polynomial filtration of the category of contravariant functors on gr\mathbf{gr}. The first purpose of this paper is to strengthen the corresponding result for covariant functors on gr\mathbf{gr}. This involves introducing the appropriate analogue of the category of analytic contravariant functors, namely a certain category of towers of polynomial functors on gr\mathbf{gr}. This category is abelian and has a natural symmetric monoidal structure induced by the usual tensor product of functors. Moreover, the projective generators of this category are described in terms of the Mal'cev functors that are introduced here. It follows that this category is equivalent to the category of right modules over the PROP associated to the Lie operad. As a fundamental example, the Passi functors arising from the group ring functors are described explicitly. The theory is applied to consider bifunctors on gr\mathbf{gr}. This allows the Q\mathbb{Q}-linearization of the category of free groups to be described, up to polynomial filtration. As a stronger application of the theory, this is generalized to the Casimir PROP associated to the Lie operad, as studied by Hinich and Vaintrob. Up to polynomial filtration, this recovers the category A\mathbf{A} introduced by Habiro and Massuyeau in their study of bottom tangles in handlebodies
