Accuracy analysis of a mobile mapping system for close range photogrammetric projects

[EN] Image-based mapping solutions require accurate exterior orientation parameters independently of the cameras used for a survey. This paper analyses the inclusion of up to two stereo-based geometric constraints in the form of baseline distance and convergence angle between camera axes to boost the integrated sensor orientation performance on outdoor close-range projects. A terrestrial low-cost mobile mapping GNSS/IMU multi-camera system is used to test the performance of the stereo-based geometric constraint on a weak geometric network in a stop-and-go survey. The influence of the number of control points (CPs) is analysed to confirm the performance and usability of the geometric constraints in real live terrestrial projects where far from ideal setups can exist across the survey. Improvements in image residuals up to 9 times and deviation errors better than 1 cm are expected when at least three CPs are incorporated into the adjustmentThe authors gratefully acknowledge the support from the Spanish Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad to the project HAR2014-59873-R. Assessing coherency in teacher education programs: implications for leadership, 2003

This study examines 14 indicators of coherence in teacher education programs that can be utilized to assess teacher education programs for their ability to produce high quality successful teachers. The indicators were further developed into a protocol for the purpose of assessment. This study was based on the premise that these fourteen indicators would assess coherency in any teacher education program to determine the areas in which the program was performing successfully in providing quality teaching in its teacher preparation program, and in which areas it was not performing successfully. This provided firsthand knowledge for the professors to utilize in making informed decisions about the weak areas of their program. A case study analysis approach was used to test the protocol, and the data gathered is reported in the text of this document as it was reported to the program that is the subject of the case study. The researcher found that the protocol developed can be very instrumental in providing faculty teaching in teacher education programs with valuable information which will assist them in making informed decisions about their program from numerous perspectives. The conclusions drawn from the findings suggest that if programs of teacher education utilize this protocol to assess their programs' level of coherency, they will also identify their programs' strengths and weaknesses. They will also be able to make valuable informed decisions about needed changes they should make in the program and maintain aspects of the program that are strong. With all faculty members of a program buying into the process, it can be very successful in improving from the inside out, instead of waiting until students graduate to find out that they are inadequately prepared for the teaching profession

[EN] The use of laser scanner technology to capture massive information has been tremendous/y boosted in recent times. In the same way as any other surveying or geodetic instrument, they are subjected to systematic errors and imperfections. These systematic errors will be modeled by a set of additional parameters of interna/ orientation through the implementation of specialized software. The different steps carried out to determine the terrestrial laser scanning Leica HDS3000 geometric calibration in flighttime will be presented. The a posteriori improvements will a/so be quantified.Los resultados presentados se enmarcan dent ro del proyecto de investigación HAR2010-18620 del Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología.García San Miguel, D.; Lerma García, JL.; Navarro Tarin, S. Assessment of the Significance of the Intramitochondrial Dense Body in Carcinogenesis

    No full text
Two to three weeks after treatment of skin with carcinogenic chemicals, dense round bodies appeared within many epidermal cell mitochondria. Ultrastructurally identical bodies were observed in the epidermis of skin treated with non-carcinogenic irritants and of healing skin wounds, but were not seen in the epithelial cells of murine mammary tumors induced by various agents. These structures were entirely different to those occasionally seen in the sebaceous cells of normal epidermis. It is concluded that the intramitochondrial dense body is not of significance in the carcinogenic process and probably represents a non-specific epithelial response to mild injury. As it is more commonly seen in the more superficial layers of a hyperplastic epidermis and in epithelia undergoing squamous metaplasia, it may have a role in keratinization under abnormal conditions
