Ces images semblent s’inscrire dans la tradition de l’image de piété catholique. Support de la foi populaire, objet communiquant ordinaire accompagnant les pratiques de piété, les suggérant ou les rappelant, l’image de dévotion catholique, qui s’est largement répandue au XIXe s., marquant les temps (première communion, ordination, mariage, obsèques) comme les lieux de la vie chrétienne (pèlerinages, sanctuaires), a-t-elle ainsi connu une transmutation numérique, développant, à côté de sa diffusion imprimée, au format 6 x 9 cm ou approchant, des formats numériques ? Politique de la connaissance, système d’information et transformation de la fonction HSCT chez Selenis
No full textLa transformation de la fonction hygiène, sécurité, conditions de travail (HSCT) chez « Selenis », grande entreprise française du secteur des services à base technique, réorganisation qui a donné le jour à la nouvelle fonction de préventeur, s’est accompagnée à la fois d’une transformation des connaissances mobilisées dans le domaine santé et sécurité au travail et de l’apparition d’un nouveau système d’information. Les savoirs techniques et concrets sont délaissés au profit de connaissances procédurales, juridiques, et de compétences communicationnelles et méthodologiques. Un système d’information hybride, composé d’un réseau métier et d’un site intranet contributif proposant un référentiel santé et sécurité ouvert, apporte aux acteurs, notamment à ceux qui viennent d’autres fonctions, les connaissances nécessaires à l’exercice du métier. La transformation radicale des connaissances mobilisées et du SI paraît donc avoir accompagné et rendu possible cette transformation de la fonction HSCT, qui s’appuie en partie sur ces derniers. Une approche d’observation sociologique, d’inspiration interprétative, fonde cette recherche de terrain. L’apport de cet article se veut tant pragmatique que théorique : cette recherche entend montrer comment une « politique de la connaissance », soit le management de connaissances dans la perspective d’une incidence sociale spécifique, rend possible, par le système d’information mis en place, une transformation sociale et fonctionnelle dans l’organisation, en l’occurrence la managérialisation de la fonction HSCT

No full textNous proposons de considérer comme relevant d'une " politique de la connaissance " les projets de communication des connaissances conçus dans la perspective d'une transformation sociale par les connaissances transmises. Le projet encyclopédique, du XVIIIe au XXe s., entend ainsi non seulement porter à la connaissance du public des connaissances et une interprétation de celles-ci, mais changer, par là même, la société. Les discours sur la " société de l'information " ou " de la connaissance ", mais aussi les doctrines du Knowledge Management, entendent que soit remaniée l'organisation sociale par la diffusion de connaissances. Connaissance, communication et société trouvent donc une articulation dans la notion de " politique de la connaissance ". Une investigation en deux volets est entreprise qui entend d'abord forger le concept de " politique de la connaissance " et établir son lien avec la communication, puis analyser une politique de la connaissance à l'œuvre dans une entreprise. Le terrain considéré est la fonction hygiène, sécurité, conditions de travail (HSCT) chez France Télécom. L'approche de la communication des connaissances, fondée notamment sur l'observation de type ethnographique, est menée à trois niveaux : au niveau historique, de 1979 à 2000, par un travail effectué sur des archives, à un niveau social intermédiaire, par une analyse de la réorganisation sociale liée à la communication des connaissances (formation, création de réseaux, stigmatisation sociale), et enfin au niveau micro-social par une analyse de situations de production et de diffusion de connaissances, dans le cadre de la conception éditoriale d'un site intranet et au cours de réunions téléphoniques " de réseau ". Understanding defence failures and coastal flood events: a case study approach
No full textExtreme sea level events are a current global threat, whilst sea-level rise (SLR) and climate change over the 21st century will increase the frequency and severity of flooding in most coastal regions. Numerical model simulations can help to understand and predict coastal floods (e.g. flood mapping and forecasting) but in comparison to flood sources (waves and water levels) coastal flood pathways (defence failures and inundation) are presently less integrated within these models. This thesis develops and demonstrates a methodology to rapidly simulate and understand the consequences of coastal flood events, with an emphasis upon regions where the risks of flooding are not well understood and could change quickly with SLR. The Solent on the south coast of England is the case study, and is prone to frequent flooding. This region is currently differentiated from the UK east and west coasts by experiencing smaller storm surges, and is characterised by undefended sections of shoreline and small floodplains. Within the Solent is Portsmouth, a city of national flood significance (only London and Hull contain more people considered at risk of coastal flooding in the UK). However, life threatening floods have not occurred in living memory. An integrated modelling approach is developed, coupling loads and defence failures with two-dimensional simulations of floodplain inundation. Observations collated from a real storm surge and flood event are shown to generate a validation data set, which indicates that this model can predict floodplain water levels to a good level of accuracy, whilst highlighting implications of such data collection. Solent-wide analysis includes simulations of hypothetical coastal flood events based upon scenarios that cover the full range of coastal loadings (realistic waves and water levels) and defence failures (overflow, outflanking, overtopping and breaching). More detailed case-studies are also applied at two sites within the region (including Portsmouth). This analysis generates peak flood water depths and an overview of impacts across this spectrum of possible floods.This research improves the existing knowledge of coastal flooding in the case study, and highlights a number of generic concepts that should be applied to others. For example the combination of flood simulation methods with real flood event analysis is essential for optimising the interpretation of model outputs whilst supporting inferences about flood consequences associated with extreme loading events (including how these may change with SLR). Simple methods estimated that >24,000 properties are within a 1 in 200 year flood event outline; and incorporating defence failures, flood dynamics, validation and detailed case studies substantially refine the assessment of places likely to experience damages. Breach defence failures generate the worst flood impacts, although in the Solent this failure mechanism is presently less of a threat than outflanking, overflow and wave overtopping. The modelling system includes easily interpreted outputs, whilst being computationally fast; therefore with potential applications including supporting land-use and defence planning, and real-time flood forecasting and warning
