David William Reed, the brother of Albert George Reed and Caroline Austin (nee Reed), and brother-in-law of Thomas Richard Austin. Family postcards sent in 1915 and 1916. He returned from France badly wounded, nearly lost his right arm and was in hospital for many months, but was luckier than his brother and brother-in-law who both were killed in action.
