Colorings of simplicial complexes and vector bundles over Davis-Januszkiewicz spaces
We show that coloring properties of a simplicial complex K are reflected by splitting properties of a bundle over the associated Davis-Januszkiewicz space whose Chern classes are given by the elementary symmetric polynomials in the generators of the Stanley-Reisner algebra of K. © 2009 The Author(s)

Relation superior – employee in psychoanalytic perspective
An article introduces psychoanalytic concepts which can be of help in making sense of seemingly irrational processes in individuals, groups and organizations. Looking at an organization through the spectrum of psychoanalytic concepts is a potentially creative activity which may help in understanding and dealing with such issues like motivation, control, assessment of organizational members. An author believes that recognizing unconscious, hidden motives will let the managers to avoid automatic reactions and will improve the effectiveness of their influences. The main described notion is a transference occurring when employee brings into relationship with a superior (leader, manager) something that belongs elsewhere, which may take the form of a feeling, or a pressure to take up a particular role. Counter-transference is the response in the mind of superior, which may also take the form of a feeling or one kind of behavior. Both transference and countertransference are unconscious processes and are not liable to rational control.Udostępnienie publikacji Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego finansowane w ramach projektu „Doskonałość naukowa kluczem do doskonałości kształcenia”. Personal literary interpretation
The article titled “Personal literary interpretation” deals with problems which have usually been marginalized in literary studies, but which seem to be very important in the context of the humanities, as broadly defined. The author of this article intends to rethink the problem of literary studies not in objective, but in personal terms. This is why the author wants to talk about what he calls personal literary interpretation, which has nothing to do with subjective or irrational thinking, but which is rather grounded in the hermeneutical rule that says that one must believe in order tounderstand a text or the other (where ‘believe’ also means: ‘to love’, ‘engage’, and ‘be open’). The article presents different determinants of this attitude, ranging from Dilthey to Heidegger and Gadamer. Finally, the author subscribes to the theory of personal interpretation, which is always dialogical

Employee participation from the viewpoint of job safety and security
Job safety is a prominent aspect of employee expectations. This paper addresses job safety
in a broader perspective, to make it more appropriate for the present needs and business applications.
The author postulates to supplement the standard set of work safety and hygiene elements
with items that pertain to conditions and security of employment. It is assumed that the increase
of job safety, as defined above, may best be addressed through employee participation, particularly
of the direct type. The paper presents suggestions for practical realization of employee participation
to stimulate innovative behaviours among employees in the context of job safety and security.
Suggestions for changes in this area are illustrated with examples from business practice. The
postulated line of thought, presented here as a sequence of activities, includes the results expected
from the use of employee participation, both from employer’s and employee’s perspective.Udostępnienie publikacji Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego finansowane w ramach projektu „Doskonałość naukowa kluczem do doskonałości kształcenia”. Znak i interpretacja. Czy możliwa jest semiotyka hermeneutyczna?
The article „Sign and interpretation” is an attempt to answer the question of the possibility of the existence of hermeneutic semiotics. The discussion relates essentially to problems such as sign and interpretation. The author analyzes the selected threads of thought of Charles Sanders Peirce, showing their similarity to the hermeneutics of Heidegger and Gadamer. The article „Sign and interpretation” is an attempt to answer the question of the possibility of the existence of hermeneutic semiotics.
