    No full text
The significance of the term confabulatio in the epistles of Ennodius of Pavia · Ennodius is the author of a collection of letters in which he corresponds with a large number of persons in Italy during the time of Theodoric the Great. His style is very refined, sometimes even hermetic, but the tone of the letters is always aimed at seeking an exclusive relationship with the interlocutors. In this dynamic of long-distance relationships, the term confabulatio expresses the desire to keep the relationship alive, which manifests as a sign of deep intimacy with the letter’s recipient
