    Despite widespread use of the vaccination against Feline calicivirus (FCV) infection, FCV still represents a major cause of feline respiratory tract disease. Therefore, a new vaccination strategy is required. In this study, virus-like particles (VLPs) were produced in insect cells infected with a recombinant baculovirus containing the capsid gene of FCV The FCV VLPs were morphologically similar to the native virus and contained FCV capsid protein (VP1) with a molecular weight of approximately 60 kDa that reacted with a rabbit hyperimmune sera to FCV in Western blotting and IFA test.
