    Il lavoro analizza il ruolo e la composizione del capitale intellettuale nell’impresa alberghiera, vista come configurazione particolare delle aziende knowledge intensive ed indagata secondo le prospettive della resource based, dynamic capabilities e knowlegde based view. Il lavoro, seguendo un approccio deduttivo, propone un modello di misurazione delle performance che integra gli indicatori tradizionali impiegati in tale settore con altri suggeriti dalle prassi internazionali per i bilanci del capitale intellettuale, aprendo tale approccio anche alla categoria delle piccole e medie imprese non quotate che rappresenta nel nostro territorio la configurazione dominante per l’azienda alberghiera. Tale modello si propone di considerare la dimensione sia qualitativa che quantitativa dei processi, delle risorse e dei risultati conseguiti da tale categoria aziendale, pervenendo anche a considerazioni inerenti il sistema delle decisioni e il governo aziendale

    The paper focuses on the characteristics of university and academic spin offs, their intangible resources and the features of project management processes. The analysis observes the structure and the impact of project management models on the business performances as well as the skills, the leadership profile, the relationships and the knowledge useful to managers. The sample consists in Italian university spin offs which have been selected taking into account the most prolific universities in third mission activities. The research questions are expressed in the following way: what role does the university spin off play within the network of relations with external stakeholders? What intangible resources are essential to success? How does the project management contribute to the efficiency of the business action? Primary data are obtained from questionnaires and document sources drawn from national database, corporate, ministerial and university sites. Social network and correlation analyses have been carried out on the sample; empirical evidences lead to observations which are useful to understand excellences/critical situations of academic spin offs, with useful implications for the research management

    Assessing the business uncubators' performance referring the local developement in Italy

    Literature assign to business incubators an important role in promoting innovative entrepreneurship and economic growth. This study investigates the relationship between incubators performance and local development in Italy, focusing on those characteristics of regional contexts that enhance the role of incubators. Using a sample of 162 incubators, the regional economic index for 18 regions and the performance data for 405 new technology ventures located within these regions, we show that the local context features play a positive effect on the incubators performance. The nature of founders team of incubators is also important to implement effective entrepreneurial initiatives, while the sectorial specialization isn’t an essential requirement for the success of NTVs. Different factors of local context contribute positively to generate an environment that enhance the incubators’ activities

    Project management, networks and value creation in university spin offs

    The paper analyses the operational characteristics of university spin offs and the features of their networks in some territorial clusters. In particular, it observes the system of intangible resources the enterprise manages, then the structure and the impact on the business performances of the applied project management models as well as the features of the network of relations the managers created. The sample consists of 134 enterprises, out of them 105 are located in five clusters of academic spin offs, which have been selected taking into account the territorial density and the most prolific universities in Italy, in improving the of the research by starting up a business. The research questions are expressed in the following way: in a specific business field, what role does the university spin off play within the network of relations with external stakeholders? What intangible resources are essential to success? How does the project management contribute to the efficiency of the business action? The data useful to the empirical analysis are obtained from questionnaires and document sources drawn from national data bases, corporate, ministerial and university sites.     The paper investigates the role of scientific network in knowledge production in chemistry field for the Italian Universities, considering the models of research and teaching evaluation, the intangibles report and the network analysis approach. The analysis shows relevant correlations between the features of network, scientific performance of human resources in teaching and research processes and provides an overview of Italian Universities activity within the knowledge production in Chemistry. The study utilizes a multidimensional statistical analysis and considers the Italian academic researchers, taken from 2001 to 2007, in Chemistry field, chosen for its particular relevance for bibliometric indicators
