Palabras Vocabulario Léxico. La lexicología aplicada a la didáctica y a la diacronía
Recent work on language change has stressed the lexical nature of morphosyntactic variation.
Taking this assumption as starting point, this study, based on a representative and comparable
corpus such as the Corpus de Documentos Españoles Anteriores a 1700 (CODEA), examines, according
to social and stylistic dimensions, three linguistic variables (variation in lexical adverbs ansí and así,
the extension of mismo ‘same’, the use of haber for some kinds of possession). The study focuses
mainly on the interaction between lexical items and morphosyntactic variation, but might also be
useful for the periodization of the history of Spanish language, especially during the Golden Age, as
well as for the theory of language change

Pares léxicos en el léxico disponible de estudiantes italianos
The application of lexical availability studies to the field of psycholinguistics continues to produce interesting outcomes. Recent research, in fact, employs data from this kind of studies in order to qualitatively analyze the lexical-semantic relations that informants establish between words. Our study will analyze a type of minimal clusters or lexical pairs, such as perro-gato or carne-pescado, in two semantic areas (Alimentos y bebidas and Animales); in doing so, it seeks to contribute to current discussion by proposing new data to show that words will be organized in more structured semantic networks as proficiency of foreign students increases. This hypothesis is based on recent studies on lexical acquisition. Our study analyzes the lexical pairs established by Italian students of Spanish, distributed in two groups according to their academic level, and employs data collected from their availablewords.
La construcción interrogativa ¿(a)dólo? en los romanceamientos bíblicos del español antiguo
The Old Spanish ¿(a)dólo? particle has barely been described in the literature. This study provides an analysis of the ¿(a)dólo? sentences as existential/presentational constructions. Likewise, the paper will give some insight into the history of interrogative acts paying close attention to rhetorical questions. The analysis will show that the grammatical properties and pragmatic functions of ¿(a)dólo? enable this particle to signal rhetoricity in Old Spanish. Methodologically, this study profits from a parallel corpus of Old Spanish bible translations and their Latin or Hebrew original texts (Biblia Medieval)

Verbos parasintéticos en español y sus equivalentes en italiano: simetrías, correspondencias e implicaciones teóricas
Verb formation has been particularly neglected in Spanish-Italian contrastive grammar. In a contrastive vein, the present study tackles parasynthetic verb formation in Spanish and Italian. The corpus is composed of 650 items. The analysis reveals the asymmetries, symmetries, and correspondences between both languages. The establishment of equivalences may be useful
in applied fields such as the teaching of Spanish as Foreign Language to Italian speaking students. However, the present study assumes the compositional meaning of parasynthetic formations and advances the hypothesis that more symmetric formations will be documented in both languages as the parasynthetic verb denotes a change of state. It contributes, thus, to further explore the theoretical aspects of parasynthesis

Tampoco no (y otros fenómenos de concordancia negativa) en las variedades vernáculas del español contemporáneo
The negative adverb tampoco has not raised enough attention from linguists and, therefore, no monographic analysis has been devoted to its study. This article explores one of the most salient features of this adverb in non-standard Spanish varieties: its tendency to maintain the negative adverb no in preverbal position. This construction is not limited to bilingual varieties, as previous literature has taken for granted. The hypothesis presented in this article proposes that this construction materializes a silent head (no) of Polarity Phrase. To sustain this hypothesis, lexical, syntactic, pragmatic, and diachronic arguments will be considered. This study is based on the analysis of around 700 tokens of tampoco no with data taken from oral and colloquial corpora. The article finally propounds this phenomenon as a Spanish vernacular universal
Una relación temporal de “simultaneidad coextensiva delimitada” en las variedades contemporáneas del español: dialectología y análisis de por mientras / para mientras
This paper examines a Spanish temporal connective that has been paid no attention in grammatical studies: por mientras / para mientras. The study has two main goals. The first one aims at establishing the geographical distribution of these expressions in contemporary Spanish varieties. The second objective attempts to advance a first preliminary description of the functions and uses of this connective. The starting point of the analysis deals with the hypothesis that theses essentially synonymous temporal expressions convey a relationship of “delimited coextensive simultaneity”. According to this hypotesis, the connective combines the durative properties of mientras (‘while’) and the delimitative characteristic feature of hasta (‘until’). These mixed properties collocates the connective in an intermediate zone. Tha analysys is based on data drawn from Corpus del español, although samples extracted from other databases will contribute to complete the sociodialectal distribution
