di Coppa Nevigata riferibile all’Appenninico Recente.
Isolation and interaction Cycles. Small Central Mediterranean Islands from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age
The recent research at the site of Oratino- La Rocca (CB) has allowed to detect an archaeological deposit belonging to the Bronze age Apennine phase, the first period of occupation of the site. The occupation during this period was suggested by some sporadic pottery finds, but now it has been possible to identify some structures and a stratigraphic sequence. The paper presents new data on these Apennine structures and the catalogue of pottery finds related to them
L’uso dello spazio nell’insediamento subappenninico di Oratino: note preliminari
This paper presents the preliminary result of the spatial analysis conducted on some Late Bronze age layers at Oratino – La Rocca. These layers can be related to the presence of some cooking structures. The integration of the functional analysis on pottery containers and data coming from bio-arcaheological record has been attempted in order to analyse the use of space in an open area during the Bronze Age. The area can be related, mostly, to food preparation/treatment and consumption activities, repeated in a short lapse of time. Moreover, these activities were performed in an open area and are not linked to specific domestic structures, but probably in a collective sphere, by a restricted number of people
The paper presents the results of recent investigation at the Bronze age site of Oratino, La Rocca, on the High Biferno Valley. Here has been possible to recognize a portion of several Late Medieval structures and a conspicuous Late Subappenine archaeological deposit. The continuity of occupation form the previous phases is also attested by some potshards decorated with the typical “Appenine” schemes. The authors presents the pottery findings from the East area of the site, where the excavation has brought to light some layers related to domestic activities, as two cooking structures realized in a short time lapse
The authors present the results of the study of ceramic material from the excavation of Conelle di Arcevia, by Puglisi (1958-1969), ascribed to the Late Bronze Age. The material examined can be mainly attributed to an ancient phase of the Subapennine, even if the presence of later elements could suggest a more recent occupation of the site during the same culture. Among the fragments analysed, some are decorated with incisions and excisions, which, even if the quantity found in the Puglisi excavations is limited, could suggest a continuing use of these decorative styles after the Apennine period
The paper presents the preliminary results of new recent investigation at the Bronze Age site of Oratino- La Rocca. The detection of a Bronze age deposit is of great importance in our knowledge of the prehistory of Molise region, where, till now, very little data was available. Excavation at Oratino-La Rocca will be strategic especially in the study of bronze age inland sites
