Verfahrensdokumentation für SEK-ES: Fragebogen zur emotionsspezifischen Selbsteinschätzung emotionaler Kompetenzen

    No full text
The SEK-ES measures emotional regulation competencies in a way that is emotionally specific and not across emotions in general, in contrast to the methods for measuring emotional regulation available to date. The theoretical and conceptual basis of the procedure was the competence-oriented model of adaptive emotion regulation by Berking (2010) and the SEK-27 developed to measure the components contained therein. Accordingly, the SEK-ES represents an emotion-specific modification of the SEK-27. The procedure consists of a part A) Feelings and moods (50 items) and a part B) Dealing with feelings and moods (12 items per affective reaction). Reliability: The internal consistencies lie between Cronbach's alpha = .67 and .97. For the retestreliabilities (4-week interval), values between rtt = .41 and rtt = .70 were calculated. Validity: The construct validity of the procedure is indicated by expected factor charges, hypothesis-compliant differences between control and clinical samples, and expected correlations to related constructs.reviewedpublishedVersio

El objetivo de los muestreos fue comparar el NPSeq experimental con el NPSeq teórico y corroborarlo con la realidad de cada punto de muestreo y sectorThe present Project of End of Career continued with the studies of urban noise realized by the International University SEK in previous years (2009, 2010, 2011,2012 and 2013) with special emphasis in the obtaining of data in 6 points of the sector Nororiente of the DMQ , to generate by statistical tools predictive mathematical models of noise for each station and for the Northeast sector. The validation was carried out with mathematical models obtained, independently of the mathematical models developed by Lombeida, M. and Moreno, D. in 2012, due to the methodology applied by the researcher. The monitoring was carried out in 6 points of the Northeast sector of Quito, monitoring was carried out during 18 hours a day, between 6:00 and 24:00, from Monday to Sunday. Flow, velocity and NPSeq data of road traffic were collected for each point. The aim of the samplings was to compare the experimental NPSeq with the theoretical NPSeq and corroborate it with the reality of each sampling point and sectorIng, Jorge Esteban Ovied

Morphology and rheology of HDPE LCP blends compatibilized by a novel PE-g-LCP copolymer

    No full text
A novel graft copolymer (PE-g-LCP) consisting of polyethylene (PE) backbones and liquid crystalline polymer (LCP) branches was synthesized via reactive blending of an acrylic acid-functionalized PE (Escor 5000 by Exxon) with a semiflexible LCP (SBH 1 : 1 : 2 by Eniricerche S.p.A.). The crude reactive blending product (COP) was shown by investigation of the fractions soluble in boiling toluene and xylene and of the residue to contain unreacted Escor and SBH, together with the graft copolymer forming the interphase. The compatibilizing activity of COP for PE/SBH blends, compared to that of pure Escor, was investigated using two PE grades. The COP addition into 80/20 PE/SBH blends caused a much stronger reduction of the SBH droplet dimensions and morphology stabilization than did that of pure Escor. The rheological behavior of the samples showed that COP leads to a slight increase of interfacial adhesion in the melt as well and that the effect is more pronounced when lower molar mass PE grade is used as the blend matrix. Melt-spinning tests demonstrated that deformation of the SBH droplets into highly oriented fibrils can be obtained for the blends of lower molar mass PE, compatibilized with small amounts of the novel PE-g-SBH copolymer. Errors were subsequently identified in the article originally published online, and the following corrections should be noted: Correction to author name: Page 1, author listing and corresponding author details: The name of the first and corresponding author was incorrectly formatted and should read: Sek Hung Chau. Correction to Figure 1: Page 3, Fig. 1: An arrowhead was omitted between the “Healthy” and “Hip fracture” health states in the figure. The corrected figure is shown here

Embedded Real-Time Surveillance Using Multimodal Mean Background Modeling

    No full text
Automated video surveillance applications require accurate separation of foreground and background image content. Cost-sensitive embedded platforms place real-time performance and efficiency demands on techniques to accomplish this task. In this chapter, we evaluate pixel-level foreground extraction techniques for a low-cost integrated surveillance system. We introduce a new adaptive background modeling technique, multimodal mean (MM), which balances accuracy, performance, and efficiency to meet embedded system requirements. Our evaluation compares several pixel-level foreground extraction techniques in terms of their computation and storage requirements, and functional accuracy for three representative video sequences. The proposed MM algorithm delivers comparable accuracy of the best alternative (mixture of Gaussians) with a 6× improvement in execution time and an 18% reduction in required storage on an eBox-2300 embedded platform
