Topoclimatic zoning of continental Chile
The design of the main cartography (Topoclimatic zoning of Chile) was carried out with the great latitudinal extension of this country in mind, therefore, a division of the study area into two layers was carried out to achieve the maximum possible scale of visualization (1: 2,000,000). Because of this, a sheet size A0 was also used. In the available space above, the cartography title was placed and under it the name of the authors. On the upper right side, the affiliations and institutional logos, since there was no more space available. The legend and relevant information on the cartography was located to the right of the map to improve its understanding, leaving first the legend of the main product (topoclimates) and then other referential information to help in its description (rivers, administrative centers, boundaries) and below Chile's location in South America, scale of visualization and additional information on the origin of the information
Multi-wavelength Observations of Mrk 501 during a VHE flare in May 2009
The VHE (E > 100 GeV) blazar Mrk 501 was observed between April 17 and May 5, 2009, as part of a 4.5-months-long multiwavelength campaign from radio to VHE gamma-ray. This source has a history of spectral variability with extreme outbursts. On the night of May 1, Mrk 501 showed a brief period of activity with a high luminosity flare reaching the level of 5 Crabs at VHE gamma-rays with no evidence of correlation with others frequencies. The flare shows a fast variability with an incresed of a factor of 4 in 30 minutes. The source remain in high state for 3 more days. We present here the results for the quiescent and high-state observations with the Whipple 10-m telescope, VERITAS, the Fermi Large Area Telescope, Swift and RXTE observations that were performed within the framework of the organized campaign.Fil: Pichel, Ana Carolina. Exploring the very high energy gamma-ray emission (E > 100 GeV) of the hard spectrum Fermi sources 1FGL J2001.1+4351 and B3-2247+381 with MAGIC
MAGIC, a stereoscopic cherenkov telescope array, sensitive to gamma-rays
between 50 GeV and several tens of TeV, is ideally suited to observe
promising Fermi LAT sources with a hard \gamma-ray spectrum. Here we
discuss the discovery of very high energy gamma-ray (VHE, E > 100
GeV) emission from the Fermi LAT sources 1FGL J2001.1+4351 and
B3-2247+381 with MAGIC. 1FGL J2001.1+4351, recently identified as MG4
J200112+4352 (Bassani et al. 2010), is most likely a high peaked BL
Lacertae object. The red shift of this source is still unknown, though
the identification of the optical host galaxy suggests z < 0.2. MAGIC
observations indicate short term variability, since the source showed a
strong emission of 20% of the Crab Nebula flux above 90 GeV during the
16th of July 2010 and none of the other observation nights yielded a
detection. B3-2247+381 is classified as a BL Lac object at z = 0.1187
(Veron-Cetty & Veron catalogue of known AGN). In July 2010 it showed
increased optical activity in the Tuorla blazar monitoring program,
which subsequently activated target of opportunity observations by
MAGIC. Within 18 hours of observation time extended over 13 days between
September and October 2010, a strong signal was found above an energy
threshold of 150 GeV. The flux (4% of the Crab Nebula) is consistent
with being constant over the entire observation campaign. We compute the
light curves, model the spectral energy distributions of these new very
high energy gamma-ray emitters and discuss the physical properties of
the VHE gamma-ray emission region

Opportunities, constraints and perceptions of rural communities regarding their potential to contribute to forest landscape transitions under REDD plus : case studies from Mexico
In Mexico, REDD+ is being presented as a win-win policy enabling forest communities to benefit financially and diversify their income sources while preserving and increasing their forest carbon stocks through more sustainable management. Under the national programme, it is expected that forest communities will have opportunities to tailor their own approaches. However, to date there is little understanding about what opportunities and constraints exist in reality for forest communities to contribute to REDD+, and even less about how their members perceive these opportunities. We assess potential and constraints at community level and investigate perceptions about opportunities in REDD+ and strategies that communities are currently envisaging for participation, in seven communities in the Ayuquila River Basin and around the Chamela-Cuixmala Biosphere Reserve in Jalisco, and in the area surrounding the Monarch Butterfly Reserve in Michoacan. We find that there is more opportunity for reduced degradation and forest enhancement than for reduced deforestation, in all the communities; that it may be difficult to establish additionality for REDD+ activities in some communities; that the amount of forest resource per community may greatly affect the potential to participate; that the presence of people with no land rights may complicate the distribution of benefits; that communities expect REDD+ in general to follow the Payment for Environmental Services model, and that lack of information about what activities may count as REDD+ activities and what level of financial rewards may be expected mean that communities cannot at present adequately appraise whether REDD+ will be worth their while or not

Study of the Flux and Spectral Variations in the VHE Emission from the Blazar Markarian 501, with the MAGIC Telescope
The blazar Markarian 501 (Mrk 501) was observed above 100 GeV with the MAGIC Telescope during May, June and July 2005. The high sensitivity of the instrument made possible the detection of the source with high significance in each of the observing nights. During this observational campaign, the emitted gamma-ray flux from Mkn 501 was found to vary by one order of magnitude, and showed a high correlation with spectral changes. Intra-night flux variability was also observed, with flux-doubling times of {approx} 2 minutes. The data showed a clear evidence of a spectral peak (in the nuFnu representation) during the nights when the gamma-ray activity was highest. The location of this spectral feature was found to be correlated with the emitted gamma-ray flux. In these proceedings we discuss some of the results of this unprecedented spectral and temporal analysis of Mrk 501 observations in the very high energy range

[EN] The present Bachelor's Thesis aims to analyze the current situation of a company in the technology sector that has experienced significant growth in recent years and is expected to continue growing in the future. This growth has led to changes in both the structure and size of departments, generating the need to readjust the techniques, based on the minimums set by ISO 9001-2015 standard, used since 2017 for project management and adapt them to the new needs of the R&D&I department. For this reason, this Bachelor's Thesis intends to conduct an analysis of available methodologies for project portfolio management with the aim of finding the most suitable one for the company. Specifically, the aim is to analyze the needs in management and coordination in order to subsequently propose a standardized procedure for managing them effectively. Additionally, this methodology should be compatible with the KANBAN method, as it is a tool used in the department for task coordination, and sufficiently flexible to be used in research and development projects. Likewise, the work also aims to suggest a new distribution of responsibilities to ensure greater flexibility of resources. Finally, the strategy for implementing the methodology change and minimizing possible resistance will be established. With all this, conclusions will be drawn from the changes made and possible future changes will be evaluated.Vázquez Jiménez, ME. (2024).
