Intersystem soft handover for converged DVB-H and UMTS networks
Digital video broadcasting for handhelds (DVB-H) is the standard for broadcasting Internet Protocol (IP) data services to mobile portable devices. To provide interactive services for DVB-H, the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) can be used as a terrestrial interaction channel for the unidirectional DVB-H network. The converged DVB-H and UMTS network can be used to address the congestion problems due to the limited multimedia channel accesses of the UMTS network. In the converged network, intersystem soft handover between DVB-H and UMTS is needed for an optimum radio resource allocation, which reduces network operation cost while providing the required quality of service. This paper deals with the intersystem soft handover between DVB-H and UMTS in such a converged network. The converged network structure is presented. A novel soft handover scheme is proposed and evaluated. After considering the network operation cost, the performance tradeoff between the network quality of service and the network operation cost for the intersystem soft handover in the converged network is modeled using a stochastic tree and analyzed using a numerical simulation. The results show that the proposed algorithm is feasible and has the potential to be used for implementation in the real environment

Quench characteristics of a Cu-Stabilized 2G HTS conductor
The prospect of medium/high field superconducting magnets using 2G HTS tapes is approaching to reality with continued enhancement in the performance of these conductors. Direct measurements of 1d adiabatic quench initiation and propagation of a Cu-stabilized 2G conductor have been carried out with spatial-temporal recording of temperature and voltage following the deposition of various local heat pulses to the conductor at different temperatures between 40K and 64K carrying different transport currents. It was found that the stabilizer-free 2G tape maintains the unique characteristics previously measured in non-stabilized tape of increasing MPZ with transport current and higher quench energy at lower temperatures. The minimum quench energy, minimum propagation zone (MPZ) length are determined as a function of temperature and transport current. The change in MPZ size is investigated with measured temperature dependent E-J characteristics. The results add more detail to help understand the unique characteristics of increasing MPZ with transport current and lower temperatures

Search for the rare decays D -> h(h((')))e(+) e(-)
We search for rare decays of D mesons to hadrons accompanied by an electron-positron pair (h(h((')))e(+)e(- )),using an e(+)e(-) collision sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb(-1) collected with the BESIII detector at root s = 3.773 GeV. No significant signals are observed, and the corresponding upper limits on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level are determined. The sensitivities of the results are at the level of 10(-5)-10(-6), providing a large improvement over previous searches
A Blind Denoising Method for Noisy Rotating Machinery Vibration Signals
The quality of signals plays a critical role in the diagnosis of faults in rotating machinery. It significantly impacts the accuracy of fault Identification and the precision of predicting the remaining useful life. During the signal collection process, it is inevitable that noise is acquired from the surrounding environment or other components within the rotating machinery. This noise can pose a significant challenge when attempting to extract meaningful features from vibration signals. Therefore, there is a pressing need to create a denoising model that can effectively remove noise from collected vibration signals, even in the absence of pristine, noise-free reference signals. In this study, we first developed a self-supervised denoising method for vibration signals that differs markedly from the traditional supervised learning denoising models in the field of rotating machinery, which rely on noise-clean signal pairs for training
Yang-Mills fields on CR manifolds
We study pseudo Yang–Mills fields on a compact strictly pseudoconvex CR manifold , i.e., the critical points of the functional where is a connection in a Hermitian CR holomorphic vector bundle . Let be a smoothly bounded strictly pseuodoconvex domain and the Bergman metric on . We show that boundary values of Yang-Mills fields on are pseudo Yang-Mills fields on , provided that and on .

Syntheses, Structures, and Photoluminescence of 1-D Lanthanide Coordination Polymers
Five new lanthanide 1-D coordination polymers are reported which are formed from flexible salen type Schiff-base ligands H(2)L and H(2)L' (H(2)L = N, N(1)-ethylene bis(salicylideneimine); H(2)L' = N,N(1)-bis(3-methoxysalicylidene) ethylene-1,2-diamine). The polymeric structures are formed by bridging neutral H(2)L units in the case of {[Ln(2)L(2)(CF(3)SO(3))(H(2)L)(4)(MeOH)]center dot CF(3)SO(3)}(n) (Ln = Eu (1), Nd (2) and Er (3)), and by acetate (OAc(-)) groups in [Yb(2)(L)(2)(OAc)(2)(MeOH)(2)](n) (4) and {[Tb(3)(L')(2)(OAc)(5)]center dot Et(2)O center dot(MeOH)(0.5)}(n) (5). The structures of 1-5 were determined by single crystal X-ray crystallographic studies and the luminescence properties of 1 and 5 in MeOH solution were determined.ong Kong Baptist University FRG/06-07/II-16Hong Kong Research Grants Council HKBU 202407Robert A. Molybdenum gate technology for ultrathin-body MOSFETs and FinFETs
Damage-free sputter deposition and highly selective dry-etch processes have been developed for molybdenum (Mo) metal gate technology, for application to fully depleted silicon-on-insulator ( devices such as the ultrathin body (UTB) MOSFET and double-gate FinFET. A plasma charge trap effectively eliminates high-energy particle bombardment during Mo sputtering; hence the gate-dielectric integrity (TDDB, Q(BD)) is significantly improved and the field-effect mobility in Mo-gated MOSFETs follows the universal mobility curve. The effects of etch process parameters such as chlorine (Cl-2) and oxygen (O-2) gas flow rate, and source and bias radio frequence powers, were investigated in order to optimize the Mo etch rate and selectivity to SiO2. A highly selective etch process was successfully applied to pattern Mo gate electrodes for UTB MOSFETs and FinFETs without leaving any residue or stringers. Measured electrical characteristics and physical analysis results are discussed.This work was supported in part by the MARCO Focus Center on Materials, Structures,

KONTROVERSI PRAKTEK TAJDI<D AN-NIKA<H{ DALAM PERSPEKTIF FIKIH KLASIK
Tajdi>d an-nika>h} is a common tradition practiced by some communities in Indonesia. A controversy on the idea of whether or not the first ‘Akad is married by the second ‘Akad occurs among classical Muslim scholars. This paper attempts to explain the controversy, mainly from point of view of Syafi'iah jurists in various existing references. Therefore, the author did a library research. The author studied various books on Syafi'iah fiqh dealing with the practice of tajdi>d an-nika>h}. The study concluded that the majority of Syafi'iah scholars allowed it and the practice did not destroy the existence of the first contract. The one who rejects the validity of tajdi>d an-nika>h} practice is Yusuf Ibrahim al-Ardabili. In his book, al-Anwa>r, al-Ardabili states that tajdi>d an-nika>h} practice has an affects the status of the first contract, which undermines the existence of the first ‘akad.
