Face-by-face growth of sucrose crystals from aqueous solutions in the presence of raffinose-II: Growth morphology and segregation
Raffinose segregation into sucrose crystals is experimentally determined along with the modifications of the quantitative sucrose growth morphology, which are in turn related to the different growth conditions. (Craff, σ) morphodromes nicely represent the conflict between the supersaturation and the raffinose concentration in the solution on the growth morphology, while the overall segregation rate is nearly proportional to the linear overall crystal growth rate. Chernov and Burton-Prim-Slichter models, checked to fit our keff and ln (keff- 1 - 1) coefficients as a function of the supersaturation and of the mean linear overall growth rate, do not allow to know whether the segregation occurs either by a process dominated by surface integration, or by additive transfer dominated by volume diffusion within the boundary layer. The distribution of segregated raffinose strictly depends on the {h k l} growth sectors and doped crystals contain deformed lattice zones, as it comes out from X-ray..

Amplitude analysis of the B+ →d+D-K+ decay
Results are reported from an amplitude analysis of the B+→D+D-K+ decay. The analysis is carried out using LHCb proton-proton collision data taken at s=7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb-1. In order to obtain a good description of the data, it is found to be necessary to include new spin-0 and spin-1 resonances in the D-K+ channel with masses around 2.9 GeV/c2, and a new spin-0 charmonium resonance in proximity to the spin-2 χc2(3930) state

N function evaluations of g which achieves exponential convergence

Observation of the B0→ ̄D*0K+π− and B0s→ ̄D*0K−π+ decays
The first observations of B0→D ̄∗(2007)0K+π- and Bs0→D ̄∗(2007)0K-π+ decays are presented, and their branching fractions relative to that of the B0→D ̄∗(2007)0π+π- decay are reported. These modes can potentially be used to investigate the spectroscopy of charm and charm-strange resonances and to determine the angle γ of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity triangle. It is also important to understand them as a source of potential background in determinations of γ from B+→DK+ and B0→DK+π- decays. The analysis is based on a sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb-1 of proton-proton collision data at 13 TeV center-of-mass energy recorded with the LHCb detector. The D ̄∗(2007)0 mesons are fully reconstructed in the D ̄0π0 and D ̄0γ channels with the D ̄0→K+π- decay. A novel weighting method is used to subtract background while simultaneously applying an event-by-event efficiency correction to account for resonant structures in the decays

Measurement of mixing and search for violation with decays
A measurement of the time-dependent ratio of the to
decay rates is reported. The analysis uses
a sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity
of 6 fb recorded by the LHCb experiment from 2015 through 2018 at a
center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The meson is required to originate from
a decay, such that its flavor at production is
inferred from the charge of the accompanying pion. The measurement is performed
simultaneously for the and final states, allowing both
mixing and -violation parameters to be determined. The value of the ratio
of the decay rates at production is determined to be . The mixing parameters are measured to be and , where is the linear coefficient of the
expansion of the ratio as a function of decay time in units of the
lifetime, and is the quadratic coefficient, both averaged
between the and final states. The precision is improved
relative to the previous best measurement by approximately 60%. No evidence for
