Oral History Interview with Adanto D'Amore, October 8, 2005
Transcript of an oral interview with Dr. Adanto D'Amore. D'Amore describes his education briefly at Ohio State University where he graduated from medical school. Shortly thereafter, he joined the US Army Air Corps, where he examined candidates for jump school. He eventually was assigned as flight surgeon to the 19th Bomb Group and sent with them to Clark Field in the Philippines in October, 1941. After the Japanese invaded, D'Amore and elements of the 19th Bomb Group moved to Mindanao. After the surrender, D'Amore went with fellow prisoners of war to the Davao Internment Camp. Eventually, he was relocated to Cabanatuan where he spent 12 months before leaving aboard a hell ship for Omori Prison Camp in Japan. Upon being liberated after the war, D'Amore was sent to Okinawa, Manila and finally San Francisco. D'Amore also discusses the condition of the returning POWs
2nd International Conference on: "Times of Polymer - TOP" June 20-23, 2004 Ischia (Italy)
The 2nd International Conference on 'Times of Polymer', which was held at at the Congress Center of the Continental Terme Hotel Ischia, Italy, from 20-23 June is discussed. The Italian Associations of Materials (AIMAT) and Macromolecules (AIM), the Italian Society of Rheology and the National Institute of Materials Science and Technology (INSTM) sponsored the Conference and funding was received from INSTM. The conference had a primary objective the meeting of a number of scientists working within the area of timescale of polymers. The scientific program started with the lecture by Prof. Alberto D'Amore on 'Mathematical modeling and Numerical Evaluation of Relaxation-Induced Residual Stress in Amorphous Polymers'

The CUBÂTI Project made it possible to acquire a climatic chamber that was indispensable for theresearchactivitiesthat the Project itself setout tocarryout. Seaports experienced extraordinary transformations in recent decades, passing from being transit points between land and sea routes to platforms of modern, now globalized, logistics chains. Such a change led to significant moves in port studies which looked at first unable to grasp what was going on and then followed different paths. I aim to provide a concise tool to account for the basic course of the literature. My hypothesis is that a multiple typology built on criteria at the core of any research design may well account for the diversity and complexity of the field
