Status of the Palm Collection (Arecaceae) at the Cyril Hardy Nelson Sutherland Herbarium (TEFH), Honduras
No full textThe "Cyril Hardy Nelson Sutherland" Herbarium (TEFH) holds a remarkable collection of 317 palm specimens up to March 2024, comprising a total of 73 species, including 14 non-native species to Honduras. Notable specimens include Chamaedorea moliniana and Cryosophila williamsii, two of the three endemic palm species recorded in Honduras. The most represented species are Chamaedorea costaricana, Chamaedorea neurochlamys, and Chamaedorea pinnatifrons. Dr. Cyril H. Nelson Sutherland is the primary contributor with 123 samples, equivalent to 38.8 % of the total. Samples collected by Dr. Fred A. Barkley in 1970 are the oldest of Honduran palms in this herbarium. The collection comprises 2 subfamilies, 30 genera, and 73 species, distributed in 16 of the 18 departments of the country. The main departments of Honduras where palms have been collected are Atlántida, Gracias a Dios, Olancho, and Cortés. The main purpose of this study is to disseminate the findings derived from the evaluation conducted on the palm collection (Arecaceae) at the TEFH herbarium, this marking the beginning of the exploration of the current state of this family in Honduras.El herbario "Cyril Hardy Nelson Sutherland" (TEFH) posee una notable colección de 317 ejemplares de palmas hasta marzo de 2024, comprendiendo un total de 73 especies, incluyendo 14 especies no nativas de Honduras. Destacan ejemplares de Chamaedorea moliniana y Cryosophila williamsii, dos de las tres especies endémicas de palmas registradas en Honduras. Las especies más representadas son Chamaedorea costaricana, Chamaedorea neurochlamys y Chamaedorea pinnatifrons. El Dr. Cyril H. Nelson Sutherland es el principal contribuyente con 123 muestras, equivalente al 38.8 % del total. Las muestras recolectadas por el Dr. Fred A. Barkley en 1970 son las más antiguas de palmas hondureñas en este herbario. La colección comprende 2 subfamilias, 30 géneros y 73 especies, distribuidas en 16 de los 18 departamentos del país. plot_corr has been added to allow plotting of correlation matrices produced by get_var_corr_.
na_replace_grouped extends na_replace by allowing replacement of missing values(NAs) by group.
add_model_predictions allows addition of predicted values to a data set.
add_model_residuals is an easy to use and dplyr compatible wrapper that allows addition of residuals to a data set.
extract_model_info allows easy extraction of common model attributes such as p values, residuals, coefficients, etc as per the specific model type. It supports extraction of multiple attributes.
multi_model_2 allows fitting and predicting in one function. It is similar to multi_model_1 except it does not require metrics.

modeleR has been replaced with fit_model which is an easier to remember name. Usage remains the same.
fit_model no longer allows direct addition of predictions. Use add_model_predictions to achieve the same.
na_replace has been extended to allow for user defined values.
rowdiff now accepts replacement of the calculation induced NAs. It does so by using na_replace.
get_var_corr_ now supports using only a subset of the data.
Helper functions are no longer exported.
