Towards supervisory control theory in tactical environments: a stackelberg game approach

    No full text
In this paper, we propose a new framework for supervisory control of discrete-event systems in tactical environments. In contrast to the standard supervisory control theory, where the environments are considered fully adversarial, we consider the possibility of the presence of attackers who have their own objectives that may not necessarily be in opposition to the specification of the supervisor. We formulate this scenario as a Stakelberg game in the leader-follower setting, where the designer proposes a supervisor, and the attacker takes a best response to the supervisor. We characterize the solution to the Stakelberg supervisory control problem as having both cooperative and antagonistic solutions. Moreover, we provide an effective algorithm for synthesizing a cooperative supervisor that enables both players to achieve their objectives. Our work makes an initial step forward from the traditional zerosum setting of supervisory control theory to the non-zero-sum setting. Examples are provided to illustrate our results

Micythus torquentus sp.nov. Type material: Holotype male, Chengmai, Hainan Province, China, April 2020, leg. Xinghui Chen. Paratype: 1m, Chengmai, Hainan Province, China, April 2020, leg. Xinghui Chen; 2f, Chengmai, Hainan Province, China, March 5 th, 2022, leg. Xinghui Chen. Etymology. The species is named according to its twisted RTA. Diagnosis. This new species is similar to M. pictus (Thorell,1897), but male can be distinguished from the warp on RTA, and the shape of the conductor. RTA of the new species is rectangular and a bit bifurcated at the end in retrolateral view, but cuneate in M.pictus; RTA is obviously twisted in ventral view. Tibiae I, II only spined on the ventral side. Female of the new species is a bit similar to M. rangunensis (Thorell, 1895), but they can be distinguished from the shape of the spermathecae. Spermathecae in M. rangunensis is sausage-like (Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001), but in the new species it becomes obviously constricted in the middle. Description (Figures 1–2). Estimating interactions of functional brain connectivity by Hidden Markov models

    No full text
The brain activity reflected by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is temporally organized as a combination of sensory inputs from environment and its own spontaneous activity. However, temporal patterns of brain activity in a large number of subjects remain unclear. We propose a regularized hidden Markov model (HMM) to estimate dynamic functional connectivity among distributed brain regions and discover repeating connectivity patterns from resting-state functional connectivity across a group of subjects. We found that functional brain connectivity are hierarchically organized and exhibit three repeated patterns across subjects with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). We have examined the temporal characteristics of functional connectivity by its occupancy. And we validated our method by comparing the classification performance with state-of-the-art methods using the same dataset. Experimental results show that our method can improve the classification performance compared to other functional connectivity modelling methods

Analysis on the Negative Impact of AI Development on Employment and Its Countermeasures

    No full text
While benefiting society, the technological progress of artificial intelligence (AI) has also brought a rising number of unemployed people and breeded polarization in income distribution by threatening the low-skill and labor-intensive industry. To solve the negative impact of AI, policies about the taxation and subsidy on AI and the income-supporting program can be proposed. However, neither of them will work well to achieve sustainable social development. In the long run, technological progress will not be influenced by government policies, and capital will find its own path to a rapid growth. Income-supporting programs are short-term solutions, being ineffective and not sustainable. Based on the literature collected, the author came up with two practical methods to deal with the negative impact brought by AI to employment: the industrial relocation as a short-term solution and the reframing of the education system as a long-term solution

Modified titanium post with polished sidewalls and prefabricated shoulders can effectively preserve the teeth with subgingival defects

Abstract Objective of this study was to examine the clinical efficacy and mechanical characteristics of the modified titanium post in the restoration of subgingival defect teeth. Teeth with subgingival defects depth ≥ 2 mm were randomly restored using a fiber post after crown lengthening and a modified titanium post, respectively. Gingival index, sulcus bleeding index, probing depth, tooth mobility, and gingival papilla height were recorded before and after restoration. Tooth models with a 4 mm subgingival defect, which then underwent fiber post restoration after crown lengthening and modified titanium post restoration respectively, was established. The stresses in the tooth and tooth-supporting structures were measured under vertical and horizontal loads. The gingival index, sulcus bleeding index, and probing depth in the titanium post groups did not show significant differences compared to those of the crown lengthening group. However, the tooth mobility, gingival papilla height, and stress distribution in the tooth and periodontal tissue were significantly better in the titanium post than those in crown lengthening group. Teeth restored with modified titanium post had a healthy periodontal status, clinical efficacy and stress distribution in dental and periodontal tissues were superior to the teeth restored with crown lengthening. However, longer term observation was still needed

The Research on the Valuation of Chinese Internet Companies------Based On DCF-BS Method

The concept of "Internet plus" was first mentioned in NPC &CPPCC (National People Congress and Chinese People Political Consultative Conference) in 2015. With the advent of Internet Plus era, the development of Internet industry has been accelerating. At the same time, the issue of how to accurately assess the value of Internet enterprises is widely valued. In 1963, Modigliani and Miller established a cash flow discount model. This model is rapidly becoming the core of modern enterprise value assessment due to its practicality and universality. However, the high uncertainty of future earnings of Internet enterprises, light assets, and reliance on customer traffic make traditional enterprises' value assessment methods no longer fully applicable to Internet enterprises. Therefore, determined the scientific and reasonable value assessment method system, which might facilitate the continuous development of the Internet industry, and help investors make better investment decisions is very important and urgent for Internet enterprises. The academic community now have different opinions on the determination of the value evaluation method of Internet enterprises. Some scholars believe that the basic position of cash flow discount method in the valuation of Internet enterprises cannot be changed. Some scholars point out that the basic position of cash flow discount method has changed. In some cases, it not only underestimates the future profit opportunities of Internet companies, but also fails. The author believes that the latter is more reasonable. Therefore, this dissertation proposes to combine the cash flow discount method with the real option method to evaluate the value of the enterprise. This paper makes empirical analysis of seven Internet companies, contrasts with the results of a single cash flow discount method, and then find one method which closer to the actual result. So as to determine a scientific and effective method of Internet enterprise value evaluation. Finally, the author gives the future researchers some suggestions about internet company valuation methods
