Etnoconhecimento de parteiras pioneiras do municÃpio de Tangará da Serra â Mato Grosso
No full textCom o objetivo de compreender o significado atribuÃdo pelas parteiras do municÃpio de Tangará da Serra, a respeito das atividades por elas desenvolvidas e vivenciadas no perÃodo de sua atuação, desde a década de 60. Foram entrevistadas três parteiras que residem atualmente no municÃpio. A metodologia utilizada no trabalho foi o método qualitativo com alguns aspectos de uma pesquisa etnográfica, onde perguntas abertas e semi-estruturadas foram elaboradas. As entrevistas foram realizadas no mês de abril de 2008. Os resultados obtidos nos permitem afirmar que as parteiras não realizam mais este trabalho por apresentarem já idades avançadas e pela diminuição, âdesvalorizaçãoâ do mesmo atualmente, e que, antes, quando praticado, seu trabalho era realizado em precárias condições materiais, financeiras, relativas ao transporte e ao acesso e, ainda, ao ambiente de trabalho. Isso pode ter ocorrido pelo fato do mesmo ser realizado no perÃodo de pioneirismo da cidade. A análise dessa prática proporcionou apresentar uma discussão em torno da motivação para ser uma parteira, descrever as atividades que as parteiras desenvolviam desde o inÃcio de sua profissão, e os efeitos desta em sua vida, conhecer os métodos de trabalho adotados, expor os rituais e crendices praticadas, quando praticados, identificar as espécies da fauna e flora utilizadas antes, durante e após o parto. Esses dados evidenciaram o riquÃssimo etnoconhecimento, saber popular dessas mulheres, que devem ser conservados.

ABSTRACT
In order to understand the meaning assigned by the municipality of midwives of Tangará da Serra, about the activities they do and experienced in the period of its operation, since the decade of 60. Were interviewed three midwifes who currently reside in the municipality. The methodology used in the study was the qualitative method with some aspects of an ethnographic research, where open questions and semi-structured were prepared. The interviews were conducted in the month of April 2008. The results allow us to say that midwives do not achieve more this work to have already advanced age and the decrease, "devaluation" of the same today, and that before, when practiced, his work was held in precarious conditions material, financial, for the transportation and access, and the working environment. This may have occurred because of it be carried out from the pioneer city. The analysis of this practice has to present a discussion about the motivation to be a midwife, describe the activities that midwifes developed since the beginning of their profession, and the effects of this in your life, knowing the working methods adopted, explain the rituals and superstitions charged when charged, identify the species of fauna and flora used before, during and after delivery. These data showed the rich etnoknowledment, namely popular of these women, which must be preserved.

"Globalization and the Western Welfare State. An Annotated Bibliography"
Get PDFThe present situation of Western European and North American societies offers a panorama marked by increasing disorder and institutional discontinuity. A crucial element in this disorder is the relationship between welfare state institutions and economic globalization. This relationship points to problems which afflict most central institutional domains of modern societies, but also to more disturbing issues like basic insecurities about values and political concepts, about the individual's position vis & vis society and political authority, and about the demarcation of different "spheres of justice". Here we are concerned with globalization and welfare states", a relationship in which all these insecurities are reflected -- and in which all this translates into conceptual and analytic problems and puzzles for the researcher. and this bibliography should provide a first orientation to anyone who begins to confront "globalization and the welfare state". What we have tried to gather together is "raw material". It may help to achieve a more complex and adequate understanding of today's welfare states and the international economic system. However, this bibliography is highly subjective -- perhaps even idiosyncratic --, and it is so for a simple reason. Our background is comparative welfare state research. Therefore we emphasize matters which are white spots in our intellectual world maps, like international relations theory and international political economy. "Hic sunt leones.' we hope that researchers from the 'international" research community will nevertheless find the bibliography useful for their own work
