2021 Fall.Colorado State University Art and Art History Department capstone project.Capstone contains the artist's statement, a list of works, and images of works. The artist's statement: I am a graphic designer and illustrator currently based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I have been producing digital and print artwork for almost a decade and have learned that I work best when creating for and about things that I am passionate about. My artist process generally takes the form of sketches and written ideas, whether I am doing something that is for a client or for myself. I think that this technique allows me to quickly rule out ideas that don't align the preferences that I have been given. They are also often the source of imagery that I can scan or somehow digitize and incorporate into my later design work. From there I move to the computer, focusing on things like how the work will be viewed, either digitally or in print. I always focus on how I can learn more about design thought this piece, such as the incorporating motion design or video. My most recent body of work has been focused on album design, which is something that I have always found very intriguing and inspiring. I created a series of fake album covers that spanned many different genres and styles of music, all incorporating new techniques and practices to help me continually improve as an artist. These pieces were my capstone project for the Colorado State University Honors program and is called "Thinking inside the Box"

Uproar at Dancing Rabbit Creek: The Battle over Race, Class and the Environment in the New South

Nonfiction by Colin Crawford Addison-Wesley Publishing Company ($24.00, ISBN: 020162723X, 9/1996) The creek of the title is in poor, mostly black Noxubee County, Mississippi, and the uproar was over the possible siting there of a chemical waste dump. Environmental lawyer Colin Crawford tells this cautionary, near-tragic tale from the perspective of the leaders of each faction: Martha Blackwell, the wealthy white woman who leads the opposition to the dump; Ike Brown, the political boss of the black community, who favors it; and Ed Netherland, the company man searching for a site for the dump and trying to sell it to the citizens of Noxubee. The clash of race, environmentalist fear, greed, and class makes for a fascinating story―and one without a happy ending.https://egrove.olemiss.edu/mwp_books/1438/thumbnail.jp
