El agua que se utiliza en los sistemas de abastecimientos para consumo de las poblaciones, contiene en disolucion proporciones variables de fluoruros, y por lo general, solo trazas debido ala poca solubilidad en agua de los minerales de fluor.La practica de adicionar fluoruros a las aguas potables se inicio a principios del presente siglo despues de muchos años de investigaciones, y hoy se ha superado la etapa experimental para convertirse en una operacion normal y valiosa en proyectos de salud pública. Son muchos los paises que practican la fluoruracion de aguas potables, entre ellos doce de America Latina entre los cuales sobresalen Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Brasil y Mexico (7). En Costa Rica aun no se emplea la fluoruracion de aguas potables

Payments for Environmental Services in Costa Rica
Costa Rica pioneered the use of the payments for environmental services (PES) approach in developing countries by establishing a formal, country-wide program of payments, the PSA program. The PSA program has worked hard to develop mechanisms to charge the users of environmental services for the services they receive. It has made substantial progress in charging water users, and more limited progress in charging biodiversity and carbon sequestration users. Because of the way it makes payments to service providers (using approaches largely inherited from earlier programs), however, the PSA program has considerable room for improvement in the efficiency with which it generates environmental services. With experience, many of these weaknesses are being gradually corrected as the PSA program evolves towards a much more targeted and differentiated program. An important lesson is the need to be flexible and to adapt to lessons learned and to changing circumstances.Payments for Environmental Services; Costa Rica; FONAFIFO
DNA sequencing data of genomic DNA from Methanococcus maripaludis S2 suppressor strains that relies on Fdh2 when formate is the sole electron donor
Data contains the Illumina Sequencing reads for genome sequencing of Methanococcus maripaludis suppressor strains that rely on Fdh2 for growth when formate is the sole electron donor.The data contains the Illumina Sequencing Reads of genome samples from Methanococcus maripaludis S2 suppressor mutant strains. These mutant strains has genomic deletion of both homologs of formate dehydrogenase (Fdh) and complemented with fdh2 homolog expressed from replicative vector. These strains only grew after prolonged incubations when suppressor mutations arise.
